Grain rye but I can’t find any right now.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Over seeded 8 bags of elbon rye today. Hopefully we’ll get some of the rain headed our way.

Feed wheat is not a good idea.
I planted a bunch of cereal rye and winter wheat, along with clover. Have a bag of whitetail oats I'm going to plant t somewhere. Still have a bag of rye left too. And a few brassicas. I top seeded a bunch last two days ahead of rain. The rain I've gotten at the club isn't enough to even make the clay slick, just knock the dust down is all. Hopefully we get rain all next week too. That should jump start things enough to get fields up. Just curious Lockjaw, what is the difference in feed wheat vs winter wheat? Not being a smart ass, just don’t know how they would perform differently. Thanks

Gonna top seed my plot with Cereal Rye tomorrow.
Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I would never use feed wheat. Made the mistake of doing that once and apparently it had sickle pod seeds in it. Now 10 years later and I have sickle pod in about 40% of my food plots and I can’t get rid of it. My opinion is seed wheat is worth the extra $$ considering you could bring in some noxious weed that you can’t get rid of. I know if came in the feed wheat because we’ve planted the same plots for 30 years and it appeared the year and in the plots where we spread the feed wheat. Just simple 24d will kill sickle pod.

I've been planting food plots since 1994. I've used feed wheat alot. No problem. Few weeds, kill them. For anyone whose used feed wheat for dove, you should know, it germinates quickly. If you dont like it, dont use it. I dont give a crap either way. Rye is almost impossible to find right now. I love cereal rye, but you cant sew it, if nobody's got it.

It's not the performance, it's the weed seed you can get from feed wheat. I planted some 10 or more years ago and have been battling wild turnips ever since. Also, feed wheat is not germination tested This plus the only time I used it, there was a bunch of other "material" in it. You know, like what comes out the back of a combine when they harvest it. I had crap all over me. I don't mind getting dusty or dirty, but I had that mess everywhere.

I did buy some triple cleaned oats recently, they also had wheat. The oats were much cleaner than traditional feed oats.
"Cull" is just another four letter word...
