Get with the Bullock county farmers federation and get your place listed in the Alabama Sweet Grown list. Maybe they’ll do an article on your store for the Neighbors Magazine

Thx, I feel like I'm pretty good at somethings but computers and advertising isn't where I shine. I know I'm gonna have to do it to get folks out there though!

This is not directed at Backwoods Cowboy, just people in general... The Facebook page looks good by the way. Unfortunately there's lots of folks who don't "do" Facebook.

Internet and advertising are like any other service, people need to pay a professional to do it. It always seems like people think they can just shortcut certain services like that.

People don't want to pay anything for house plans for a $450k house, (which is strange to me as a Civil Design guy) or pony up for a real website designer who can navigate the internet and boost their website in the various search engines, but they will gladly pay some dude $6k to fix their transmission. I guess people don't see Designers as "real trades" and therefore aren't worth as much, more like a necessary evil.

Point is, if you want professional service you have to pay for it. If I had a commercial enterprise that catered to the public for my business, I would spend the money and get the best internet web designer I could afford. If you don't have a good internet presence with a sharp, easy to navigate website these days it is going to hinder sales and traffic.

True. I don't do FB, neither does my wife. Never have. A good web page and a shipping service can greatly increase business IMO

This all true. I've been in business for myself for over 30 years. I decided at an early age I would have to work till I die. I have certain beliefs that I stick to no matter what. So rather than investing in traditional retirement plans, I've invested in myself. So this ranch is our retirement. I think I have a really good product. If you want fresh from the farm you have to come to the farm. Several of my failed business was due to location. That is a BIG problem here, and I understand that. I'm also strong against the internet. I've never had a Facebook page, I've spent more time on here, than anywhere else times ten. I don't really watch TV either. I have a long story about this place but believe the lord has blessed me with it. So I also believe he will take care of it. We've got a kid that was supposed to be doing us a website. My wife does the Facebook, I actually looked at it for the second time when the garbled stuff came up. We have a couple other things we're going to do, such as we have a bunk house and a lodge next to the store, we will have people stay in all inclusive with meals and all, we have also thought about deer processing. The balancing act is to get it up and running and not over whelm us at one time. I currently have a construction business and work out of state alot. So this is gonna be tough for awhile, but I really appreciate all y’all input. I really think the world of MOST yall!

Irish is right though. Social media advertising is the way to go. The majority of people are internet driven. They will pay good money for a decent product but it must be shipped to their door. I guarantee you that you will be successful if you find a way to market on social media, and ship your frozen products to people.

My son and future daughter in law work for a marketing company. They both work with businesses to increase their social media presence and design logos and websites and so forth. It is definitely the way to go. The days of someone driving 30+ miles to buy things are in the past I’m afraid.

When I first read the thread last night I didn’t click on it because I don’t do the book of faces either. But when I clicked on the link I could see it on there for some reason. I use to hunt in Blues Old Stand so I’m familiar with the area. I’ll try and stop by there when I’m working in the area next time. Good luck to y’all!

Stores in Almeria community on rabbit road ( County road 12) ranch is in stills crossroad, close to the old truck farm, if any of that is familiar to you. I will put the address up as soon as I get it fixed on Google. I'm also getting a new phone and will post that number as soon as I get it. I don't want to put my work/personal phone number on the internet!!
