I did. My brother got to eyeing it and worried me until I let him get it, with the instructions that it comes back to me if he ever sells it. Had a trigger job done on it, and mounted an older VXIII 2.5-8x36. It's a surprisingly good shooter even with the short, thin profiled barrel.

The situation has now gone and gotten serious. I pulled out a couple boxes of Win 170gr. SilverTips from cira 1988. You gotta have confidence in your equipment.

Guess ima tote the the model seven 260 and wife will be with the 6.5. Probably swap to the 7mm-08 model seven at some point or the 308.

I bought a heavy barrel savage axis ii last year and put a accupoint on it. All i got to shoot with it was a couple of foxes. I reckon im gona give it another try. I might try to kill one with daddys winchester 30-30. Thats the first rifle i ever deer hunted with 34yrs ago. I still havent ever killed a deer with it. I might kill a spike with it just because.
