Can’t help with price, but they are notoriously good shooters, even if they aren’t the most aesthetically pleasing to some. The newer model triggers I think some find bad, but all in all good rifles. And easy to change barrels for a new caliber if you want.

$300, and may or may not shoot.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

Some 110s are quite pricey. I have a Savage 110 High Country in 300 WSM and a Haymaker in 450 Bushmaster.
Both are close to $1k. The HC put 5 in .25"@100. The Haymaker put 5 in less than a 1" @ 100.

I have never shot a nice one…all we have had is the el cheapo axis an axis 2….i have never seen one that would not shoot in the same hole..me an my brother both own several an they are the most accurate guns we own…the main rifle i hunt with cost $350 scope an all..i couldnt care less if its the most beautiful rifle on the planet..im too poor to waste money an rifles that dont shoot straight…an i aint spendin an ignorant amount to make one shoot straight…thats dumb…i might build a gun from the ground up someday…but a savage is just fine…an we had a bunch come through the ranch…dozens..all but one operated flawlessly..an the one shot good til a 12yo broke the bolt handle off on a shooting house step..i think they jb welded a butter knife on it..may still have a butter knife for a bolt handle🤷🏻

Savage rifles pretty consistently shoot better than anything else at their price points and there are several reasons for this that you can have a legitimate discussion around regarding how they are built. That's why a lot of people get so but hurt about it. You can actually point to reasons which takes the conversation too far away from unicorns and fantasy. Tikka shooting window lickers probably being the worst but hurt of all-time.

I ask because I found one for 500 with a vortex diamondback on it. My brain said sounds like a pretty decent deal but I didn’t know much about savages.

Race horse deal as long as the rifle is in good shape.

If you keep the barrels dirty/copper fouled, THAT’s when they shoot…..fills in all the tool markers and barrel imperfections.

Don't worry the Tikka window lickers can't come to terms with fact that they really just own a cheaply built Beretta.

I own or have owned several Savages and Tikkas….and folks that are fanboys get me….especially for savages. A Savage has a wart only a mother or a UT fan could ‘love’. They usually shoot and they’re usually cheap….they’re never worth putting up with it they’re not cheap and don’t have a nice barrel that doesn’t say ‘savage’. Tikkas are nicer all the way around, though costing more out of the chute. They’re tools.

Yep... and Ruger Americans definitely shoot the best out of all three.

I like my Americans better than my Savages, but ‘accuracy’ is rifle specific, not brand specific. Tikkas have been very accurate, and I’ve got a Kimber I’ll grab first. If I like a rifle, and it shoots, I don’t worry so much about the brand or what it’s chambered in. I just go shoot it.
