Didn’t see where one was started so I’ll start us off. About to leave the house and head to a loc on stand on the edge of a 3 yr old cut over and some pines that funnel into a hard wood draw. A lot of our acorns have already dropped, and the white oak crop is chit, so we will see how it goes. Good luck to every one this morning. Oh and roll tide!

Here for first sit of year. In a climber on an oak ridge. Very still and quiet and I feel like I sounded like a herd of Buffalo getting in here.

I’m at black prairie wma in Mississippi hunting and scouting before my gun hunt here in two weeks. Standing at the edge of some woods waiting for light so I can walk in and pick a spot to set up. Sat the edge of a standing corn field yesterday evening and didn’t see a deer. First time that’s ever happened.

They’ve been moving since 445 this morning according to my tactacams, hopefully that’s not a bad sign that they won’t move this morning

Set up on a hardwood ridge with a mixture of oaks with a few acorns in the ground. The ridge drops off into a thicker mixed pine bottom. Pretty morning to be up a tree. Stay safe and good luck.

Set up on the edge where a 2 yr old cutover joins a 13 yr cutover adjacent to a pond.

Bowhunting sure is a humbling activity.

Set up in a creek bottom with 3 different types of acorns falling. Nothing happening until 8 when a lone doe tried to slip by at about 30 yards. Shot felt good but arrow landed about a foot in front of her. Upon further review, a small limb between she and I deflected the arrow mid flight. Stuff like that just happens. Frustrating, but shake it off.

8:54, here comes another lone doe. Perfect. She proceeds to walk within 10 yards of the tree. Shoot, aim, ready! Shot about 6” over her back, never settling the pin. That one is going to sting for a while. This marks my 30th bow season and that’s easily the worst miss of my bow hunting career.

Aside from that, it was a beautiful morning in the October bow woods of Alabama. Thankful for a 48 degree morning watching the sun come up from the seat of my Ol Man.

Heard a lot of deer moving just before daybreak
Saw a big boar at 0815 and had no shot

Thanks. I got lucky and double lunged it at 18 steps. She might have made it 40 yards and tipped over.

Coming at you live from walker county. It's sunny and 105 degrees and the wind is out of the NSEW at 44 mph.

I’m in a ladder stand on the east end of a skinny foodplot near a creek. This is the most grass on our place due to the drought, so hopefully they’ll be in here feeding!! I just hope the wind will quit changing directions!! That killed me yesterday afternoon!!

There’s two fawns just above my arrow shaft in the pic:

Forgot my thermocell. These skeeters are big enough to stand flat footed and breed a chicken.

I decided not to hunt this afternoon and watch the Bama game and this buck was probably to young to shoot anyway. That's my stand on the tree in the background.

I saw a bunch of deer, but they all stayed out of bow range
