I haven't planted yet either. Looked at long range forecast today on 4 different sites. No real, significant rain until mid December is showing on any of them. I think 12/15 showed the greatest chance. Mostly dry through all of November. Not sure what to do.

I planted mine a few days after the last big rain. Seemed to be good moisture still in ground. They are coming up after only a week. I’ve noticed there have been heavy morning dews I hope it will sustain them until some rain.

You sound like me…mine with the delta ag coat that’s added to wms has helped mine come up some…I don’t know how much damage the turkeys have done but they have a red dot on em for this spring 😂

Top 3 driest years I’ve ever seen. I got seed sitting under thatch since Sept 9 that hasn’t seen a rain yet. I checked a couple of springs yesterday that never go dry. One had a trickle the other a damp spot.

I have always planted in the middle of September, and never started a season without fields looking good, until now.
Planted September 15-16 and they look like we plowed them yesterday.
Gonna keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

I just looked at Accuweather again this morning and some changes have been done since yesterday. There are several chances of rain now around the second week of November.

They’ve been doing that damn near weekly since we planted sept. 9th. Every week I get my hopes up just to watch the % chance dwindle to nothing as we get closer, or the expected rain to move from .71” to .02”.

I did the same here at my farm. Planted my Marshall Rye for my winter grazing plots for cattle and also planted my greenfields for deer.

Haven't planted the Fayette place yet.

I'm still waiting to plant. Its ridiculously dry here. Even if we get a good heavy dew, the wind will dry out the ground. I haven't found many oaks dropping, but have a couple and have 4 deer wearing it out.

It would be nice to find some that would drop more frequently. Maybe I need to plant some apple trees or something.

I just checked my plot here at home. I'm SHOCKED that it looks as good as it does. The first stuff that came up is about 6" tall. The stuff that came up after the drizzle we had 2 weeks ago, looks pretty rough, but the older stuff looks good. Very little of what I broadcast into the standing beans has come up. I figure it's gone.

One of my guys was at the camp this weekend and sent me a picture of this plot. He said they all look like this. [Linked Image]

Definitely not the best one I’ve ever planted but given the drought, I’ll darn sure take it.

The close up photo looks blurry but that’s the dust from my SxS in the air.
