Yes you can just run both into same splitter. No problem.

Dang that’s good idea . I can get Birmingham an huntsville channels but have scan channels after turning antenna. May turn vhf antenna south .

Get an Omnidirectional antenna That is an option but you lose the gain in a particular direction. Two directionals would be better. Unless you had plenty of signal in close.
