Parents don't want to be parents. Being a parent is a tough job and has responsibilities. Many parents are on drugs and the grandparents are trying to raise them. Lack of arse whipping also

Everyone likes saying what’s wrong with kids. I see it as what’s wrong with the adults that raised them that way. My son is 14 now. He enjoyed being around me when he was younger but it’s a struggle now. He doesn’t like being held accountable and I stay on him like a bum on a ham sandwich. He’ll be raised to know the Lord, respect his elders, know hard work and work ethic and will know how to control his temper. It’s obvious so many people my age and older are just lazy as parents or they want to be friends with their kids. Like I’ve told my son many of times, I’m not your friend I’m your father.

It's a father issue, not a kid issue.

He has an RA (Royal Ambassadors, I think) class at church. He has to get onto them to keep them from talking all at once and there are 10 in the class.

Looking at some of the responses here, I have to agree that it is probably a little of several things.

I have long held that it has not been for the better for society to take both parents out of the home due to having to work full time. Now, I am likely biased in that until I was in 8th grade and my sister was in 5th grade my mom was a stay at home mom. I think we were better off for it.

I think that when both parents work, it is very likely that then both parents are tired and want to decompress from their day which then causes more lax parenting. I know some who do an outstanding job, but it doesn't seem to be the majority.

I also agree with the general family dynamics these days with lots of homes without strong male role models and in general parents don't seem to model the behavior that most of us want to see in society for their kids to adopt either.

I see far fewer families making church a priority - I think it large part because when both parents work, some are working weekends and for those who aren't attending church takes time out of what little free time they have during the week and they don't want to make the sacrifice. Then there are some who do show up most Sundays but still don't really model the appropriate behavior the rest of the week.

TexasHuntress I agree with everything you said and some of what the others said. Yes, this sort of thing is as old as time... but the frequency of these types of events just gets to be more and more.

Morales have changed thru time and yes it is very similar yet so different. Society has changed dramatically yet it does cycle.

Policy changes do and will cause changes in society. Just look at what lack of prosecutions have done and it’s not just in big cities. Look at the funding for single mothers have done for families. It actually promotes fatherless homes instead of as they claim help the situation. Cloward Piven really changed society for the worst.

The world needs more truth. They don't want to read it though because god is whoever they want him to be.
