I spoke to our IT guys at work earlier today to get their opinion and they said to turn cell phones off for the duration of the test. When I asked why I got a long technical explanation but in a nut shell they said this is not an ordinary signal like an amber alert it will actually transmit back to the sender. Something about trying to build a database of cell phone locations in the US. Most IT guys lean toward the tin foil hat side so take it for what its worth. My understanding is that it will come up when you turn your phone back on.

At what time is this going to happen? You won’t remember but you will have lost 15 minutes of time.

I’m cautiously looking out my window to see if my neighbors have turned into zombies

Mine went off at 1:18.... They cant get nothing right.... If nukes were launched at us then you would have approximately 5 minutes to get things in order. My father who worked for the nuke programs in the 70's always laughed about that. He said the sirens wouldn't even start humming by the time the bombs went off.

I'm no IT guy, but a cell phone always shows where you are. 911 can ping you at any time, so I know the government can.

Before 5g, they would know you were located near the last cell tower your phone was near. It wouldn't surprise me if they had satellite global positing on all the phones tracking in real time.
