Buddy at old camp drives them (engineer for Nissan) and the only issue I've heard him talk about was on the 1st generation and it was an exhaust manifold tick they couldn't remedy. He got to drive the first diesel HD off the line for a couple weeks to "let it be seen". Deer ran out in front of him on the way home from camp and totaled it (no parts to fix it with, so it sat in the plant for a year before they crushed it). He was mortified, but it did reveal an issue with the hood latch as the hood immediately folded back over the windshield on contact with the deer...said his second thought after getting the truck stopped was, "oh crap, we gotta fix that latch design!".
experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

From what I've experienced is the 5.6 V8 is a solid engine and reliable, just the mileage sux in them 13 to 15 mpg. but they do have good power for towing....most of the complaints I hear on the older ones are the exhaust manifold leaks and the window motors going bad.....Other than that they seem to be pretty descent trucks....
Did you know that Beer Nutz are over a Dollar...and Deer Nutz are under a Buck...

Well damn, I hadn’t heard they were DC’n the Titan. I have a Frontier and love it, 1st Nissan I’ve owned in many years, 20+. I was planning to get a titan in another couple years since Toyota has started making the Tundra with solid gold parts cause that’s the only way to explain the ridiculous pricing that have now.
Finally deported myself from the peoples republik of Kaliforkistan.
