What an odd business model...

https://www.foxbusiness.com/fox-new...m-shelves-after-death-massachusetts-teen

So they have these chips that are so hot that they only sell one to a package, and dare people to eat the chip and see how long they can go before having to drink something. Fast forward and kid 14 years old apparently dies from eating one.

The world I live in gets crazier and dumber every day...

On a more promising note, our daughter and son-in-law are up for a long weekend and we were talking last night. She said she's laid the law down to our 15 year old grandsons. She told them that if they participate in ANY challenge, she is going to beat their ass. grin

I'm glad they are in good hands.

No autopsy or anything… we’ll just blame the chip company, start a Gofundme account and see how much money we can get.

That’s how it should be, sadly it’s not

I was at the quick mart yesteday and a young guy was eyeing a bag. I said "Go ahead, I dare you". He looked around and asked how much? I said "You have to eat the whole thing, can't have anything to drink and you can't make a face". Again, he acted like he would do it and said "for how much?". I finally was like, "In all seriousness, you don't want to do that to yourself". He agreed and put em back. lol

The one chip challenge was absolutely terrible. My son, 17, was talking it up and wanting to challenge me and his sisters boyfriend. I kept saying no....until he caught me few beers in and I agreed. After watching some of the videos the next day I tried to back out but he got home with three chips. What transpired for the next 12 hours was absolutely the worst. We each took our chip, my son almost immediately puked. I have never been in that much pain in my life. My mouth, throat, and stomach felt like I was eating hot coals. Our kitchen floor was covered with drool, milk, sour cream, water. After about an hour it started to subside, I could taste things and felt normal. I cleaned up, poured a drink, and sat down to watch some baseball just glad it was over. Nope, not over. About an hour into thinking I was good my stomach started burning on fire. Not like I had to $@#$, but like those coals had reignited. My lower back started hurting terribly so I couldn't sit. I got up and started pacing and sweating so much I was soaked through my clothes. My son asked if I was ok and I told him I was giving it 10 minutes and if not better he was going to have to take me to the hospital. My back was hurting so bad I had to lay down on our tile kitchen floor. Luckily I began to feel better and didn't venture to Shelby. I stayed up till about 3 am because I was so worried it was going to hit again. Oh it did, phase 3 hit around 8am and it was equally painful when exiting. Before I get blasted for being a DA, I fully realize that and you're not telling me anything I don't know. Easily one of the worst things I have agreed to do after drinking...and that is saying something!

I've told my son several times - if an idiot idea involves the term "challenge" , that's your cue not to participate.

I’ve done the challenge, but I’m a pretty big pepper head anyways. The heat in your mouth was bearable. I didn’t drink for 10 minutes and couldve gone longer but I was just thirsty at that point. Much like KY, The worst part of it for me was when it hit my stomach I literally felt it moving through my digestive track like a fire ball. I got a little uncomfortable and didn’t know if I was going to puke or poop. Ended up pooping and was all good after that. Was about 3 minutes of being uncomfortable.

Not nearly as bad as the time I ate a jellyfish at the beach this summer, but I’ll save that story for another time

I don’t think I’ve seen them in the stores, but then again I’m rarely in a store. I do know that I wouldn’t try it - I have enough other issues without self-inflicting one.

My nieces and nephews brought some hot sauce to try had skull and bones on the label. It as hot hit but not unbearable. Most wouldn’t try it and I just shrugged at it. One niece sent a bottle she said was hotter. I finally tried and it was very hot, a couple of friends tried it at a gathering. One took a large half a spoonful. It would take your breath away.
We then had a family get together and I picked and grilled some jalapeños from the raised bed. Those were hotter than any of those sauces. No one could take a second bite.

🤷‍♂️ why. I’d say they’d as hot as my habaneros since they’re growing close by?

Puckerbutt pepper company invented the carolina reaper. Ed Currie owns it and it's the place for hot sauces for you afflicted.
