Was headed to the lake to spend time with family this weekend and was going to take a bunch of wild game to cook. Its always a good time to cook what's left of last year's hunting successes to make room for the upcoming season. Went downstairs to my refrigerator and opened the door to grab some beer and noticed that they were room temp. Opened the freezer and everything was completely thawed and at room temp. Lost it all, everything, deer, hog, quail and duck. Even lost two ducks I had that I planned to have mounted. Glad I found this before I went out of town for three days.
Silver lining, is that the processor I use for deer and hogs and the packaging I did on the quail and ducks kept the blood waterfall from occurring. I always wrap everything in freezer paper and then place them in plastic bags. Had I not done that, I would probably have been pulling up flooring. Let that be a lesson, wrap yo meat.

I put remote alarms in mine, just for this reason. It’s a shame to lose processed meat or any kind of meat for that matter. They are REALLY cheap for the piece of mind it gives. You set the temp at which you want it to alarm to let you know there’s a problem so you can catch it before it all spoils.

I don't know where you mean by Central Alabama, but I did see where Harrell's Refrigeration and Appliance in Selma got a shipment of freezers and they generally have good prices and are great people to deal with if you decide on a new one.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.
