I wish LASIK would work. Unfortunately I have a choroidal melanoma close to the macula on my retina. It will require radiation treatment and my retina will sustain permanent damage. Pretty much sucks, but it could be worse. I caught it early enough, we think, that life will go on. I'm lucky to have the privilege of worrying about how I am going to hunt, not whether I be around to hunt at all. I'm sorry to hear of your condition, but admire your attitude and I'm very glad it got caught early on. I have been shooting right handed guns, left handed, all my life. Don't worry about having to change out your gun collection. It'll work just fine. Thanks FurFlyin. I have been a little concerned about using my righties, but just from handling them, I think I can make it work.

Just shoot left handed sighting with your left eye. Not too hard to learn and do. I had a retinal occlusion 9 years ago that blinded me in my dominamt right eye and had to do this. Just different is all. Thanks for the advice 10 Point. I appreciate all the comments on this thread. It is helpful to have encouragement, especially from people who have been through it.

I've heard good things about Dr. Wells over there. Best of luck with that, my friend.
I'll add that 90% of the lefties I see on the youtube or other videos shoot right handed guns so it's done all the time. The only one I recall that shot a left-handed gun was ole Jackie on Buckmasters. Every lefty I know uses a right hand gun. I don't understand it but I see it all the time. It would drive me bonkers to have that shell flying out of the chamber across my face on a dove field or duck blind. Not to mention trying to work the bolt action with my off hand. Your case is unique but keep that in mind.

Some of the biggest deer I've Killed I shot them left handed. If the scope is true -it hits the same. Guess Im just bad at setting up a stand but it always seems they came out on my left and were moving quick enough or close enough I couldn't maneuver. I never practice left handed either. I hate your having the issue but you should be fine to just shoulder your rifles on the left side. Practice makes perfect. I would think traditional bows would be tough.

I'm trying hard to find the silver lining to this problem and having an excuse to buy new guns and bows is one of them.

I went to the range and fired a couple of shots with my rifle. It is definitely not that big of a deal, although I was surprised my left shoulder really felt the recoil more than my right. I'm sure I just need to work on my form. Definitely will be making a switch to left handed bows. I shot a lefty yesterday and it was not anywhere near as difficult as I thought it would be. Just listed all my right handed bows in the classifieds.

I don't have the box close by, but can get it tomorrow. We bought an adapter that mounts your cell phone over or to the side of your scope for someone with vision problems. I am in Mobile and would be happy to let you try it out at a range.
Thanks for the offer alhawk. When I find out the result of my procedure, and how much vision loss I encounter, I may take you up on that!
