Yes to answer your question......but this helps
DRINK lots and LOTS of WATER. Then drink some more. Stats say men need 120 oz/daily. I can do 90 water and then my coffee, milk, whatever else. Dehydration wil make you feel stiff and aggravate your body. Most people are somewhat dehydrated when you think what our body needs.
LOWER your salt and sugar intake. I didn't say cut it out totally, we do live in the south! LOL ok to splurge occasionally.
STRETCH every morning when getting out of bed.
Try to do weight some type of resistance training 3-4 days/week. Go to Walmart and get you a pull up bar and put it in a door way that you leave open all the time. When you go by it grab hold and hang long as you can. This will help your back decompress as well as strengthen your core and arms. Eventually start workig on doing the pull-ups. It'll take time.

This was my recipe, other commentor's will vary. I don't move quite as quick at 58 as I did at 28, but I'm getting back to weights and workouts that I was doing in my early 30s.
THIS WILL HELP with how sore and achy you feel.

Sorry for the long post. This was how I was feeling a couple of years ago as well. Hope it helps!

50? hell I'm 38 and something hurts most days (usually multiple "somethings")...my right knee has hurt since March, when I was doing a lot of squatting while warming up pitchers on GomerJr's baseball team. It would usually loosen up after an hour or so, but a couple weeks ago I made the mistake of "running while fat", and now there's bruising on the inner side of my right knee...I assume I've strained/torn something. My right shoulder has been hurting for a few days after I "slept funny" on it a few days ago. And just this morning, I turned my head in just such a way that I pulled something in my neck. It's fine if I'm still, but if I turn my head too suddenly, it hurts for a couple seconds.

I do. Hard to believe with the disk issue and my back from my wreck. I go to the gym, and lift weights and do cardio. I get a little sore from lifting weights. I think I started in February, and feel and look better. I started slow, worked on form for a few months, and now I can push things a little more. I benched my body weight 2 reps a week ago, and did 6 reps at 10 pounds under it friday. Trainer says when I can do that 12 reps, then we will do a new max. For a 56 year old that it 6'3'' tall and 185 pounds, that is pretty decent.

Then I do an ab machine and a back extension machine about 1 to 2 times a week. Ab's has been a weak area for me. Ortho said building my core would help. For cardio I do the stairmaster for 30 minutes, 2 to 3 times a week. I try not to do to much cardio, because that hurts muscle building.

Yep, water, stretching, weights (even pushups and pullups if you don't have access to weights, I use a big sand bag), and plenty of vigorous s%x (that gets farther between after her menopause). The heat is what has gotten to me the past couple of years.

We have a little sitting area off the kitchen. I walk by and turn on coffee maker and go and sit on the cushion with my legs across the armrest of the old loveseat. It really stretches my lower back out nicely.

Havent had a day of not being sore for about 6 years now. I dont have any sharp pain im just sore all over and stiff.
Daily turmeric/ginger and super magnesium from GNC help but they dont take it all away.

You can drink all the water in the world but without getting enough electrolytes it won't do the trick. I'm not 56 work in the heat and run a lot of miles in the heat. Cutting out salt caused me a lot of issues. I'm know doing apple cider vinager with salt, eating more pickles and Gatorade. I was drinking over 120 ounces of water and couldn't maintain hydration.i never had any issues until I reached 50.

Having both my knees replaced made a HUGE difference for a reduction in daily pain. I'm really active, hiking, biking, and being outdoors so I think that's helps keep me in somewhat descent shape for pushing 60

So get the hip done. It's actually one of the easier replacements to recoup from

Yep. Already had one done. Now number two is ready. The surgery and recovery were a breeze. It is missing 3 months worth of work I can't do right now.
