Got a field planted with sunflower, milo, & millet. First year planting this field, but planning to do it annually.

Thought about adding a fake powerline. For those who have done it, what size cable are you using? I've got a pile of 1/4", but assuming something more like 1/2" would be better suited.

1/4 may not work but if you have a bunch double it up..

Georgia Football..Acts like Bama but has a trophy case like South Carolina.

They land on barb wire lines so the 1/4 would work I reckon. I’d personally go with the 1/2”.

100' of Romex electrical wire would be the Cheapest route to go.

Sounds like a lot of effort just to get a little birdie. If you got a good stand of all that seed, just let 'em come in and have a barrel burner. I guess maybe if you're wanting the kiddos to have an easy shot, that would do it.

I ran 300’ of 1/4” coated wire last year. The coated won’t allow the decoys to “stick” when clipped and they roll over due to being top heavy. I’m just gonna rig em differently this year and come from the bottom with fishing line on the decoys.

Doves will land and sit on 1/4”. Use what you got.

You didn’t have any problem with dove using the coated wire?

My buddy did this to his dove field about 3 years ago and used I think it was 3/8 twisted cable ( what ever the size that Al Power uses). He ran it about 250 yards across the width of his field and it works like a charm. Doves come and land on it even while we are actively shooting. Its about 25 ft high and anchored by two pine trees. There's nothing better than a live decoy.

No sir, not that I noticed. Have some dead trees around as well that they like to loaf in, so that helps also.

It works good for upping your shot percentage if you are having a bad day
