Guys, wanting to know your experience with knockoff Yeti coolers.
We pool, beach or fish just about every weekend of the summer.
I’m sick of the cheap plastic Igloo not keeping ice too good. Are the Yeti knockoffs any better? Been doing a little looking. You can get a 25-30 quart for $100 or a little less. I really don’t want to spend more than that and knew you fellows would have some thoughts.

The RCTIC is very good. Looks identical to the yeti.

What do you consider in the “knock off” range?
Most of mine are 50-65qt but I have Rtic and Magellan(Academy brand from a few years ago) and had a K2. They all kept ice about the same if you didn’t open them. My back of the truck cooler is an igloo marine 30ish. I’m not out anything if it walks away but I replace the ice blocks(frozen 2 liter bottles) every day.

The Ozark Trail 36 has been great for us. No wheels must be carried. It has a great seal. The lining comes out for cleaning after the beach sand.

My RTIC kept food frozen for 7 days
I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another hard shell cooler like this
If I were going to buy a soft cooler I’d go with Yeti

Got a lifetime from Walmart with wheels that blows my yeti, pelican and Engel away.

My dad has a Magellan small size (20qt-25qt) and it does a great job. I know of a half dozen people, including myself, with the ozark trail 26qt hard coolers and they are great. Walmart will sometimes run them on sale online for $49 and they are normally around $90.

I have a Sportsman Guide one. Holds ice better than my old Yeti i gave to my Son.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I went on a out of state with a buddy, in 7 days I added ice to my yeti 3 times and my buddy had a Wal Mart lifetime that kept ice the whole week, way less about $120 for the big one!

Ive got engel , orca, canyon, orion, etc. I prefer the orion over any of the rest but its not a huge preference. The key to any of them is to pre chill whatever you are trying to keep cold.

Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

I have an igloo sportsman that has done really well. I don’t think it’s keep ice for as long as a yeti or RTIC but it does good.

Been very pleased with my Lifetime from Walmart.

But don’t let the name fool you, it only has a 5-yr warranty.

Man get one with wheels. I’d deal with less ice retention over toting a heavy ass cooler.

Unless you’re going days at a time, I think any of the rotomolded style are about the same. Guy on YouTube does tests on them and the yeti won, but not by enough to justify the added expense.I bought a Tundra 45 when I was down in okeechobee in 2017, just because I was friends with a distributor down there and got it for like $225. It stays in the back of the truck, been beat to hell, and still going strong. Did have to replace the latches on it after they dry rotted. Went with some aftermarket’s with a different design that doesn’t snag fishing line as bad. Whale Tales I think they’re called. I’m sure the others have replacement parts too. AU7MM08 bought me the Ozark Trail version of the bigger Roadie on clearance at Wally World it’s a solid cooler if im going on the boat alone.

There are videos on YouTube comparing coolers. Very interesting when you factor in cost.
