It’s pretty warm out in these rice fields. Especially in these old trucks with no air conditioner. And they sure are designed for air flow with the windows down. I stay soaked with sweat from my nose to my toes all day long!! It’s mental alright. Sometimes I think I’m mental for being out here.
It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chews your a$$ all day long.

Change oil in one vehicle, brake pads on another. Finished at 10:30 dripping wet. I’m just too old to handle the heat now, but too stubborn to pay anyone else to do it.

The biggest reason so many fuss about the heat is because most of us now live in houses with air conditioning. I spent my high school years living in east Texas without an a/c. Now I would rather not be without as I am fond of my creature comforts but lots have never experienced that just as a way of life and I think that is why such a big deal is made about the heat when it gets to triple digits. Folks just are not conditioned to being without the a/c. Sure there may be places that have seen record high temps but that has happened for years, too.

TexasHuntress, you absolutely right. Growing up, i stayed at my grandmas house every day. She never had an AC. Only had a couple of box fans. I dont remember ever being hot. Our AC runs non stop while the sun is up all summer.

My son has had ac since he was born (fixing to be 21) he gets up nearly 7 days a week and puts on long sleeve FR shirt, pants, and heavy boots and gives it hell 12 hour a day at the Steel mill. It ain't that bad. It's all mental don't let it get to yall. Hang out up in a big oak crawling around dragging a 25lb chainsaw with you. The funny thing about a big chainsaw, in the winter that heat its making is pretty nice, in the summer, not so much. Yeah that sucks, but hanging out in a paint room with a heater going to kill the humidity ain't no fun either. Glad i don't much do that anymore, but it's the place to be in the winter time 😏

Remember when A/C in a car was something you paid extra for? When was the last time you saw a vent window on a new vehicle?

I couldn't imagine pulling a big saw up unless it was a take down.
