Makes for a good song i reckon but i dont think its realistic. Small towns laid down and hid just like everybody else. Most everybody is just gona watch, maybe film it with their phone or gripe about it on social media. Hardly anybody ever really stands up for anything, "it just aint worth goin to jail over".

The down fall is that when someone stands up for what is right is punished and the the folks that are burning and looting walk free as can be.

Folks in Jasper Alabama didnt lay down They let them protest and march around but if they had made a move toward the Confederate Monument there would have been bloodshed There were men with rifles on rooftops and several men in store fronts armed to the teeth and ready to act Some of the older men were members of The Sons Of The Confederacy and are dead serious about it
I know some small towns coward down and let everything happen though

Not in Hokes Bluff. Word got out a couple years ago that antifa was coming and 300 necks showed up at the Piggly Wiggly ready. Saw it first hand.

Because very few country artists write their own stuff. Nashville song writing is basically an assembly line, trying to mass produce the same formulaic crap over and over.
I don’t care for 99% of Taylor Swift’s stuff and probably couldn’t name 3 of her songs, but she writes all of her own stuff and is more talented than just about any mainstream country artist. Not really a fan, but I can at least respect the talent
