big bob gibsons bbq, a must!! Hard to go wrong with Big Bob Gibson's if you like Q. Also, a short drive out to the Old Greenbrier is worth it for the hushpuppies alone. Man those hushpuppies are something else. I always liked the original Greenbrier restaurant a lot better than the one on the interstate. Big Bob's is good but I would take the drive to Greenbrier if I had to choose. Actually, you have it backwards: The old Greenbriar is at the new location next to the interstate and under the old water tower. The new Greenbriar is at the old location on old Hwy 20 next to the cotton gin. Personally, I like the old Greenbriar much better than the new one. And I agree that it's worth the 10 minutes drive from Decatur. Have a good trip.

Curry's just off of Bank St if you're looking for a little higher end menu.... Wentzels is good. Their cheese grits are excellent and remind me of South West GA eating fresh fish and oysters
Benny's old place, and the like are good for lunch if you are in Decatur for a softball tourney and really need to get back to the fields. Curry's is only open 1/2 day on Saturdays unless something has changed. They make the best chicken salad sammich though and the thick cut pickles served with it are flat out awesome. Back to the BBQ... Gibson's is consistently good, though I prefer turkey there. Some have mentioned Pig Stand in Hartselle (10 mins south of Decatur) and I'd have to agree their pork beats Gibon's IMO. Tell me about "Benny's old place"... never heard of it and I've been in D-town all my life. Wentzels I've not tried, but have heard good things.
The left lane is for the the purpose of moving the flow of traffic forward regardless of the speed limit. If your impeding the flow of traffic get your ass in the right lane. It's really that simple...

Greenbrier restaurant is in the old building at corner of Greenbrier road and old Highway 20 http://oldgreenbrier.com/index.htmlThe newer building on I-565 is Greenbrier Barbecue which relocated from the above location going on 20 years ago http://www.greenbrierbarbque.com/Personally I like the old Greenbrier Restaurant better.
