what is the difference between pre-loaded maps vs. map cards? i have garmin echo 73sv. it came lake vu g3 , would map card be any better? any help is appreciated

The preloaded maps are somewhat generic. With a map card you can load whatever maps you're willing to pay for.

Garmin Active Captain is pretty good, download it on your phone or pad & decide where to fish before you go. I’m sure you can transfer waypoints to your unit Bluetooth from your device. I only use my Garmin for livescope, I have older Birds with cards for mapping as of now. I use Navionics & Lakemaster cards.
