Has anyone else had their insurance company go up 46% in one year? Mine has just sent me an email saying they are going up $1,098 and I haven't even had a claim. My broker called them and was told if I were a new client then it would actually be $1,600 less. This is stupid ridicules. I'm about to tell my current insurance to good by!!

My State Farm home owners went down about $200 but the car insurance went up about $400. Maybe one of my kids got a speeding ticket or a bad credit report.

Mine did. I bundled my cars and homeowners with State Farm and they gave me a great rate. You are a Unicorn. Never knew State Farm to give anyone a great rate .

My homeowners went up 40+%. Pissed me off, so I shopped around thru an independent agent friend of mine. Results were all companies went up and he couldn't really save me much at all. The insurance companies have taken a beating from the tornadoes and hurricanes over the last few years. Sucks but it is what it is mine went up (SafeCo)and asked my broker to shop it. Nobody was cheaper; they said everybody went up in Alabama

Only 46%? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
If Brandon (3FFarms) sees this, I'll let him tell y'all how much mine went up this year. Pretty sure he told me he'd never seen one with zero claims go up that high.

they go up in premiums but not in the coverage amount. Wouldn't inflation affect both? I told my agent this Not really. When gas goes up that doesn't mean you get more gas. You can raise your coverage. Which is something you might wanna look at. Everything is more expensive now From my understanding, it costs them more to replace your car and house, if something happens. That's why premiums are increasing. ETA. Is does effect it across the board in a sense. On the coverage side. Say you have 100 grand in coverage. That 100 grand doesn't buy as much.

Mine did. I bundled my cars and homeowners with State Farm and they gave me a great rate. If you got a great homeowners rate in FL you’re lucky or not near the coast. Most folks are seeing huge premium increases as carriers go under or stop writing in FL. Even with Commercial Lines, I have had to move business clients whose carriers dropped them while others have seen increases. Today, one of my Commercial carriers said they’re not writing any more business owners policy (BOPs) within 25 miles of coast in the Southeast including FL and AL. Lots of shady stuff going on with folks getting lower quotes but not told the coverage isn’t as complete as their existing coverage that went up. I don’t see it getting better even with new insurance legislation.

I want to start by saying I completely sympathize with everyone that is having to go through this. I promise I do. In 18 years of being in this business, I’ve never seen the market as volatile as it has been the last 6-8 months. I posted this back in March and I’m simply going to copy/paste, because the same holds true on June 1 as it did 3 months ago. I do want to address someone mentioning coverage not increasing but premiums are. I have found the complete opposite here. All of my carriers are increasing dwelling coverage in order to keep up with inflation, which is part of the increase in premiums…not all of the increase mind you, but quite a bit of it. Here’s my post from mid March…
We represent several excellent carriers but shooting you (and everyone) as straight as I can, every single one of my carriers applied for a rate increase in 2023. And I can’t say with 100% certainty, as I haven’t seen this with my own eyes, but my understanding is that every carrier in the state (homeowners) applied for a rate increase with the DOI. As I’ve worked through 2.5 months of this new year, I’m still finding that our portfolio is still very competitive with what else is out there. Record losses, record material cost…all that trickles down to you and me eventually, and that’s where we seem to find ourselves in 2023. It’s not fun, I can promise you that. But, we’ll do everything in our power to review, compare, make sure you’re properly insured and do our absolute best to service your policy the way it deserves. We’ll control what we can control and do our best to minimize what we can’t. It’s a true pleasure to work with so many of you guys and I’m thankful for each and every one of you that has reached out over the years. There’s such a commonality between us here (minus in the sports forum) and I ALWAYS enjoy my time spent speaking with the members of this site.
Ya'll are just overthinking it now
