Leaving tomorrow for a few days at the Holiday campground, my wife will tow my boat. I’ve never bass fished there before so any tips/info would be great.

Used to fish it 3 or 4 times a week.
Back in the seventies and 80's it was a tremendous
LM lake. Now it is Spot heavy and similar to
Martin. Clearer and much cleaner water.
You need to drop down to 8 or 10 lb. test and
fish smaller baits. Fish suspend over all of
the underwater timber after spawning, which
I'm sure is over now (spawning).
Might want to fish top early. Move to swimbaits
in 10 to 15 feet after topwater is over. Then
fish the timber. Watch for schooling fish, also.
Good crappie fishing this time of year. They should
be 15, or so suspended over brush.
Veazey, Wehadkee, and Stroud creeks are good
for both.
Used to catch some decent yellow perch, way
up Wehadkee
For those interested, there are lots of big hybrids
in the lake.
Holler if I can help you.

Maybe CT, had a Guntersville trip planned 3 weeks ago & wound up in the hospital instead. We will see what the good Lord has planned this time.

If you happen to be fishing down the river (below the 109 bridge) you may try throwing a Zara spook early and late around Amity State Campground, there is several long shallow points that run out to the river and a real good pocket behind the Park to fish if you get down that way....I kilt em in there before... grin

Holiday is one of my favorite campgrounds, but I catch more fish around Amity. Those long points at Amity are awesome early, and I have also caught several good ones in the cut back over towards State Line Road on up in the day.

We’re heading to Amity for the 4th and I can’t wait, then goin to Holiday in August. Good luck!

Not much to see, caught 7 all spots. Fished topwater around Amity early & not a sniff. Caught the spots running between Cyprus trees on a swim jig & squarebill. I thought this is a lm lake...gonna give the spots a grease bath this afternoon.

My dad used to fish there a long time ago back in the 80's I think and they always caught them dragging a do-nothing worm. Not sure what color he used but if the water is clear I'd start with green pumpkin if it was me and if I'm not mistaken he may have also used the really old Mann's deep diving crankbaits and caught them.

It’s been a relaxing week, perfect place for a feller to turn 60. I’m gonna go looking for lm tomorrow, not sure where to start. I have no idea about ledge fishing but I’m gonna look in the morning.

It’s tough to find large mouth but they’re there. We caught a bunch around bridges but you got to have current. Yellow jacket creek is good right now
