What kind of savings will this create, if any for folks?

My wife spends $250-$300 per week between Aldi and Walmart and there's only 2 of us at home. That includes cleaning supplies, bathroom supplies etc.

So, we're looking at saving enough to buy an extra 12 pk of Charmin each month if it passes.

4% is the state rate, ( I think) , I'll take it . Never know when that extra Charmin might come in handy.

For us, it could be $100 a month or more. 2 adults, 2 kids at home plus food for extra people. Then add on holiday meals, birthday parties, etc... Total yearly savings could be $1200 to $2000 depending on how the extra's add up.

They'll lose that revenue and possibly up the property taxes in the near future...
No sales tax here but the property taxes more than make up for it.

You are correct. But, I believe that they are only cutting it in half. Not totally eliminating it

Just keep your eyes open if politicians are giving you something you can bet they are taking double somewhere else.

I know,I’ve owned homes there. They simply raise the appraisal to make up the difference. Our annual appraisals here are going up substantially

So you spend $5000 a month on groceries?

Another way for the illegals to NOT pay taxes.

That was never intended for the roads though that was the lie they told

It will get made up somewhere else, likely in the form of property tax. Property tax should not exist, that is the one that should be cut.

I thought most of this group are Republican, this used to mean low-taxes. Some of you are acting like you don't support the elimination of the grocery tax... which party do you actually support.. you need to ask yourself because you are contradicting what used to be what Republicans actually stood for... back in the 80s.

If we think there’s going to be a reduction in overall taxation we are fooling ourselves. It’s income redistribution again. I am all for removing any and all sales taxes when the money used is from previously taxed income. But there’s no way the money grubbers in The Gump and the District of Corruption will be denied their outsized pound of flesh.

'm in favor of the grocery tax b/c it is one of the few where most everyone has 'skin in the game'. Obviously the WIC participants also don't get to play in this one, either. 52% don't pay Fed Income Tax.
