He was struggling a lot about 6 months ago; couldn't use his back legs. My wife started giving him some anti-inflamatory meds. He got considerably better, but has slowly been going down hill. Today he is having a really hard time walking, so I called the mobile vet. Wife is a mess. It is sad, but he lived to be 14 and had a good life. Until ~10 months ago when his legs stopped working; his happy/happy spot was back leg in the back floor and chest on the console of the truck. No matter how long they live or how good of a life it was, it hurts when You loose a good friend, companion and family member. Sorry for your families loss

It’s tough to lose a good dog!! I’ve had many and I put everyone of them down myself. It was hard but I didn’t want them to suffer. It was quick and painless for them. Of all the good labs I’ve had, none compares to Raven. I don’t even want to think about when that day comes. A beautiful new lab puppy always helped the hurt a little. Sorry to hear about Jake.
It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chews your a$$ all day long.
