Aren't they closing most of the Detroit stores this year to? Who would have thought they'd be closing stores in liberal ran metropolises?

guess all the shoplifting and riots have made Walmart leave those communities

Stores pass on theft to honest customers one way or another OR they go out of business.

Wal-Mart's statement, "He also said at the time that Walmart's stores in Chicago collectively operate at a loss due to a "combination of our sales, product margin and expenses." He said Walmart would try to reduce losses without raising prices or cutting workers' wages or hours."

What he REALLY wanted to say, "These stores aren't profitable because they steal more than they buy."

I would imagine that they struggle to find employees as well.

Right, the theft we're used to from past times, I'm sure they can absorb or pass on to the honest customers - it's the brazen, dangerous way the theft is taking place these days. I'm sure up there they are already struggling to find good employees and what kind of worker or customer is going to want to show up to a place that's likely to get mobbed by a gang of thugs at any time?

A lot of of employees are going to be upset because they are doing a large part of the theft. I know of a store that lost several pallets of fishing tackle two different times. Probably more being stole out the back door then front. Then there’s the cashier giving three for one because his/her ass will be beat if not doing so. Bottom line, employees are most of the problem.

Yes. Folks living on those areas complain about the "injustice" of not having decent stores, but yet there's a reason for that... And everyone except the Liberals knows what that reason is. There is a big elephant in the room and the Liberals are looking in every corner, nook and cranny to find it.

Walmart won't say it out loud, but that is the main reason for the self-checkout machines. If asked, they will say it saves money because they do not have to hire extra employees. In reality, it means they do not have to hire extra thieves. I have known several people over the years who have worked for Walmart, and from what I have been told Walmart spends more time and effort monitoring employees than they monitor customers.

My first job out of college was at a Circuit City. They were losing $250K a year in inventory out of that store. I had a guy come tell me about another employee who had a stolen radar detector. Brought in the new loss prevention guy and started interviewing people, and 8 people enbded up getting fired. Shrink went way down after that.

People have an uncanny way of justifying theft. It never ceases to amaze me.

Walmart will not say explicitly what the actual problems are, which is the natives are stealing more than can be absorbed and that is described as 'underperforming' in the press release. District Attorneys and police who fail to enforce the laws encourage this third world behavior then bitch about the 'food deserts' in these communities.

Fuggem.

Walmarks and other retailers need to let the dimturds running the chithole cities what the real issues are and stop sugar coating it.
