The Armory in Pelham can do a submission for you. They have been very johnny on the spot for me with all my AR10 drama.

First one I bought through Silencer Central took 13 months. I've since bought 2 more through them. I'm about 4 months in now. It just takes time.

Silencer central has nothing to do with it.

My experience with Silencer Central was good. I knew it would take a year.

It’s the ATF for sure. Waiting on a suppressor is hard. You have to forget about it and one day you’ll get the call.

You have to stay on top of it in the periods before and after the ATF is processing it. If the seller drops the ball you won't ever start the process or you'll be delayed getting it.

The ATF's portion will take about a year. When I got the email from ATF that the paperwork was submitted and in process, I just added an event reminder in my calendar to check on it a year after.

It's not the wait that bothers me, it's the bogus "4 month approval process" lie that I was told that makes me angry. If I had known the truth, I would just have done the snail mail route that I did the first time.

Which may have been true when you applied. Those things can change in a weeks time. I know people who’ve waited from 3-13 months. No rhyme or reason as to why the difference, other than a federal agency handling the paperwork. It is frustrating. Best advice I can give is just let it sit, forget about it, and one day you’ll have it in your possession. 👍😂

Silencer Central made the mistake of over promising on something that is really out of their control.

One thing to remember with them too is after they get your approval, they have to send certified mail to the Sheriff of the county. Then they have to wait a week since the letter was received before they can mail it. Goes out USPS and has to be signed for delivery, which means having to wait another day if your mail is delivered when you’re at work. Easy to get excited when you get that email from ATF, but add about 10 days to two weeks more wait with Silencer Central.

I use this Reddit post to keep up with the current wait times and what submitted numbers are being approved. They start a new one every month so just search “may 2023 form 4 Reddit” next months when the time comes.

From what I’m seeing 250-270 days is real common. There are some outliers. I would think you are getting close.

It was probably 4 months at the time. When it first rolled out we had people getting approved in 60-70 days

Silencer Central has been phenomenal to me, and I started the process in January. Every time I call, I speak to someone with little to no wait. Buying a silencer is a waiting process, so I don’t understand why people get so worked up about it. They told me 8-9 months and I’m figuring 10-12.

I didn't know you needed a silencer to shoot docks for crappie. Maybe that's why I fail at it.

Silencer shop and the ATF were all promoting 4 month approvals with e-file. total hogwash. I have been averaging 10 months. My last submittal was 11/12/22 and forgot about it until this thread.

Last month I got a email my picture expired, up loaded a me picture. Yesterday my can got out of jail.

Why couldn't you just go to an ATF field office and hand them the paperwork?

I didnt feel like reciting the Lords prayer 100000000 times while talking with the ATF. I believe any and all gun laws are complete robbery of my rights as a lawful, and clear mind US citizen.
