This is suspicious behavior, but let me play devil's advocate here. (no pun intended)

As a woman of Middle Easten decent, and likely Muslim, she wants to check out a Chistian Church. and is met with suspicion. This makes her uncomfortable, and not welcome which then causes here to act the way she did.

This could be completely wrong, just adding another option.

So she puts on shooting ear muffs and runs out? That's the extremely odd part to me, the ear muffs.

Depends on what they were saying to her. Did she leave before or after the snakes came out? grin I would recommend vigilance but welcome her if she comes back which it doesn't sound like she will.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I taught ESL in a large church in Montgomery and have meet people from all over the world. Different cultures matter. Women in the middle east rarely worship with men, they worship in separate rooms or halls. If you find her let some women from church go visit her and she will invite the ladies in and offer them food. This is part of their culture and talking about food is the #1 thing that will get anyone talking. If she comes back to church have some women take her to a SS room and study and worship there if she wants. I would have the men keep their distance and let the women do all the talking. I think she just needs someone to talk to without being judge because she already knows she’s different.

How does everyone know she was a Muslim?

Wow. A lot of you that wanna preach how you’re a Christian and everything else may want to actually read the Bible and or actually listen to the sermon on Sundays. Bunch of judgmental hypocrites. Just because you go to church doesn’t mean you’re saved. You still have to live and lead a Christian lifestyle, and judging by a lot of comments in this post a lot of ya gonna be awful hot for eternity .

I doubt the face covering would have been an issue if it was an Eastern European woman with a Slavic accent. LOL!

Yep the the old “faith without works” theory. What about the thief on the cross? Was he special? He got a trip to heaven only for believing.

It’s easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God. What is a rich man? All Americans are considered “rich” by folks in third world countries. If you have multiple vehicles does that make you “rich”? If you own more than one home does that make you “rich”?

I try not to be judgmental, it’s a full-time struggle. I have a full-time job just concentrating on me.

Most people don't realize how seriously they take that. The idea that someone could absolutely believe eating a food would damn them for eternity is too much to believe. They do, though. You have normal one minute and about ready to kill a Christian the next.

Wow, this went off the rails. This wasn’t a judgement. This was an observation of someone acting strangely. The first person that peeked interest in the unusual behavior was the retired cop. I trust his understanding of abnormal behavior since he has the experience with this. I had no idea what was going on at first since I was helping the kids. I want every church to be full of hypocrites, and sinners. the problem today is the fact that everyone talks about how “this church or that church” doesn’t have nothing but a bunch gossiping hypocrites that go there. You know they’re right. There is a bunch of sinners that go to church. Finding Grace and forgiveness is one of the reasons why I’m there. I’m not worthy of anything or no more holier than thou than anyone else; only Jesus.

Hopefully why everyone is there and something we offer to others.

Just remember the old saying, when you are a carpenter, every obstacle looks like a nail.
Many cops, simply from a life of dealing with the worst types in society, look at everyone as potential criminals.

Personally, I think you UNDERreacted.

We can be nice and welcoming while at the same time anticipating a potential threat.

I work the sound booth at my church. From the booth I have pretty much a bird's eye view of the entire congregation. Keep my pistol on me every sunday morning. Feel like I am the most prepared one- (other than the security team stationed outside- which is basically just my father in law)- to get a shot off at any sort of attacker. There was a run of about 6 months where I was particularly leery of the disgruntled ex husband of a woman in my wife's bible study....he pulled up in the parking lot a couple of mornings after their initial separation but never actually entered the building.

During this time-when I was particularly on edge, on one sunday morning, we had an unrelated incident wherein an older gentleman struggling with some dementia stood up in the middle of the service and yelled really loudly. This individual was to my hard right and in the seats directly adjacent to the wall of the sound booth almost below me. I couldn't actually see him but heard him holler out in a time when we are supposed to be quiet and listening to the sermon.

The next thing I knew, I was standing, weapon un-holstered and thumb on the safety looking for the source of the loud hollering. I didn't actually point the weapon at any one but had it out and ready.

After the individual was calmed down and taken out of the sanctuary,I realized that I was still late to the party. Had it been someone meaning to do us harm, he would have gotten a few of us before I could have even had the time to get stood up and get a shot off.

There is never a level of prepared that you can be that is "Too Prepared". It can happen in a flash. The bad guys have all the time in the world to prepare to do you and your flock harm. You have to win the battle every single time and that starts with being prepared even before your spidey senses start tingling.

Maybe she didn't feel welcomed or felt uneasy. I personally think you over reacted, just going off your she put on shooter ear muffs comment. Takes a lot to walk in to a new church, she probably seen what she needed to see and said the hell with it.....

To you trusting one’s. The next time you’re in the pick up line at your kids school and you see some random stranger walking around the school, Go and welcome them to the school and tell the SRO it’s all good and show them around. Then ask them to come to church with you Sunday and come over to the house for a home cooked meal. It’s the Christian thing to do.

Just remember that when Jesus comes to visit us I doubt he'll be wearing a White robe with long hair and a beard.

At the same time if this concerns the congregation, find a website from Israel with tips on spotting suicide bombers. Based on what you said I would at least do this. The whole population of Israel are taught these things and are the best in the world at it. Also know that the easiest and best time to stop a terrorist attack is in the surveillance and planning phase.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.
