My 14 year old son needs another drawbar for his new hay tedder. He needs one with a drop in it that can be flipped over to raise up the tongue a little. Here is what he has right now. The flat one causes the tongue to drop too low and he can't adjust the tedder arms as needed. Y'all have anything that could help?

Thanks,
Jeremy

Ford draw bar Amazon

Better Draw bar Ebay

Or just weld an offset on top of the current draw bar.

1 to 2 short pieces of square tubing welded on top and your problem is solved.

Get a fab/welding shop build an offset that will bolt on the existing one using the existing holes. Or get one for a regular receiver hitch and pop a couple of holes in it. Use the largest ,grade 8 bolts you can and put a 3 grunt tighten on them.

You could drop the hitch on the tongue of the tedder. You could cut the tube , weld a 5/8" or 3/4" plate to each piece with a series of holes so you could adjust it for any height drawbar.

You could cut the tongue tube , angle it to level it , then weld it back together.

As stated above. My M9000 came with a straight bar and didn’t work with a batwing cutter. Welded a 4” drop truck receiver to it, drilled 3/4 holes through the tube then pinned it through the draw bar hole. Probably didn’t need to pin being the weld hasn’t broke since I did it in 2005 the year we bought the tractor.

Tell him to be careful with how high he goes, or he will run into issues with the pot shaft hitting the hitch.

Make you a deal. You come on up here and help us throw square bales this summer, and you can explain some mechanical engineering knowledge...

Please let me know if you do run across it. Happy to make the trip over there. Kids are always up for a road trip.

What about bending the one you have? Put in vise and heat, 2 bends should get you there.

Get you a 4 or 6 inch drop receiver hitch. Flip it upside down and bolt it to the draw bar with two grade 8 half inch bolts. That’ll get you the height you need and that’s plenty strong for that fluffer. Just bolt the hitch on when you need and you can use the hitch in your truck when it’s not hay season. And your not taking any strength away from factory draw bar. Plus you can still use the draw bar at factory height when needed.

He's trying to use it for one of his other hay implements. If 1Shot doesn't find one, we are going the route of the drop hitch others have mentioned.

Thanks again for all of the advice.

What model Ford Tractor?

If you look up a drawbar for a Smurf Tractor there are about 72 billion options right there on the internet most are bent since that's the way most of them came from the factory. Did anyone even look?

You'll have a custom made gold plated drawbar with "Dumbass" inscribed on the side of it before these guys on here are done helping you fix this.......

No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

If you don't find it here, pretty sure Lewis machine shop in clanton can fix you up. They've always been able to help me out & have reasonable prices.
