Been waiting for the alpha gal. Heard it can sneak up on you after the RMSF. My fiancé got the alpha gal during the 2021/2022 deer season - figured it out right after we bought half a cow and had been eating on it pretty good. She was COVERED in hive like marks. Almost looked like poison ivy. Probably spent $3k on doctors visits before an allergist made the proper diagnosis. Went away from red meat for a while, eased back in one type at a time. Beef gave her the most trouble but 12 months later and she is good. Had a couple fat ribeyes for dinner tonight. Venison gave her the least reaction so we switched to that primarily.

Been waiting for the alpha gal. Heard it can sneak up on you after the RMSF. Was it a lone star tick? If not i wouldn't be worried about the allergy. I've had the alpha gal long before it got "popular" WELL before they figured out a name for it, Had the Lyme to unfortunately 😕

Many outdoorsmen in the northeast no longer wear camo. They wear a tan color so they can inspect themselves and pick off the many ticks that are accumulated walking through the woods. They are ridiculous in PA over the past several years. Everybody has a friend or family member who has contracted Lymes up there. Have the ticks up there developed an immuity to permethrin?

Sprayed all my turkey clothes down with Sawyers last night…..I’m not taking chances on ticks and it seems to help with skeeters too

I don't think so. (yet) It's just that serious if you get Lymes. I use Permethrin. Is it a silver bullet ? I don't know. Are those who contract it careless ? Don't know that either.
