You guys that have it, what do you do to help? I have a lot of pain in my hands and it's getting worse rapidly. I don't want to take a lot of medications, but wondering what you do to that actually helps.

Copper cuff bracelet helps mine. I could tell when I didn't have it on after I took it off for surgery on hand. My hand was wrapped down passed my wrist, so I didn't have it on for about a month. If it doesn't work, scientifically, I'll take the placebo affect.

If your fingers are tingling, going numb, or feel like they are burning, then it may not be arthritis in your hands. You could have a pinched nerve in your neck.

For starters, eliminate as much sugar from your diet as possible.

Topically you can use diclofenac gel OTC. There are several meds to choose from if taking a pill. Mobic, celebrex, diclofenac to name a few. All of which are relatively inexpensive.

Humira injection weekly, and take high dose Vitamin C, and Cosamin every day. At least that's what my Rheumatologist has me on.

Keep the Ibuprofen handy, (no pun intended).

Don't do whatever makes it hurt the worst.

It sucks, but there's not much you can do about it except suck it up and make good choices on what you do with your hands.

Glucosamine chrondroitin was a godsend for me. Had to take it for 10 days or so before I felt the relief in my knee. Took it every day. Only way I made it 15 years until I finally had total knee replacement.

I have it in my thumb joints; may need surgery, eventually. Voltaren helps; also was prescribed Meloxicam. It's a prescription level strength NSAID; will only use it if pain dictates. Can raise blood pressure. I wear splints, sometimes. Was given some hand exercise to build muscle around the joints for better support.

I added Magnesium (250mg) daily to my regimen and it seems to have helped some; no where completely gone. I already take diclofenac twice a day, which only helps my deck and shoulder, not my fingers, back and the rest of my joints. Lol.

Are your joints sore and swell where cant make a fist? I take acetaminophen , GNC triple magnesium and a turmeric with ginger. This combo really helps for me. Took about a week and could feel the results. Before i couldnt make a fist and my fingers would tighten and lock up. I can now make a fist again and fingers are limber. I still have pain and soreness but not like before.

Eliminate sugar and alcohol like others have stated. Definitely works to alleviate inflammation.

What Rmary30 said -

Magnesium, Aspirin, Boswelia, Tumeric, Ginger - all are anti inflammation - take in the morning and have no pain all day.

Pretty sure youre gona have to try some things and figure out what works for you. Theres alot out there. Seems like something different works for everybody. But there is help available that is not addictive and will give you some relief. If you try one and dont get relief, try another. Youll eventually find something that will help you

Mobic daily and diclofenac sodium gel. Can’t function without it. I’ve cut out all caffeine and try to limit sugar intake. Mine is primarily in my lower back but I’ve got it in my right shoulder too. The gel helps there.

I feel your pain, literally. No good answers on relief. Because of my heart meds I pretty much can’t take anything that does any good and I am eat up with the crap. One hip and one shoulder replaced and I need another shoulder and a the joint at the base of my thumb done right now. Only thing that helped some I can no longer legally use as a resident of Alabama. Wish this state would come out of the Stone Age

A Doctor told me once "if I could fix that, you would feel great and I would be a billionaire, it sucks for sure. Back, knees, shoulders, feet and hands, I can go all day and just move thru it, but when i set down in the evening i become the robotic man who tries to move around, hate it, hopefully they will find something that really works one day.
