Going to Pensacola next weekend for my wife’s birthday and looking for a restaurant for dinner Saturday night. Probably something on the nicer side, steak, Italian, etc.

I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.

IRON for a fancy dinner. Jackson’s fits that category as well. The Grand Marlin for good seafood and waterfront atmosphere. (We are going tonight). Peg leg Pete’s for good oysters and beach atmosphere. Very crowded and a long wait.

I know it's a bit touristy, but I've always had a good steak and really good food in general at McGuire's Irish Pub. Plus their beer is really good, and the atmosphere is fun, and still kind of cool after all these years.

Another place... When we went down to see our Daughter and her family for our Granddaughter's graduation, we ate at Fin & Fork and it was really good too.

McGuires is the steak place, prime beef( get a cup of their Senate bean soup), Dharma Blue is American all round good chow and their fish dishes are 10s( sushi is killer also), Fish House on the bay is consistently good, a drive to Gulf Breeze is definitely worth it to hit Dewey’s( ah la Dewey Destin of the Destin family) on the bay, kool spot, casual, cold beer, hammocks on small beach, fresh seafood ( fried shrimp done right) . I grew up in Ft. Walton/ Destin area.If you want to do your own shrimp/ low country boil thing, run by Joe Patty’s Seafood market, it’s worth going just to see it. Enjoy.

Lived here all my life. Good luck getting a GREAT steak. I’ve never been to Jackson’s or Iron though. Honestly I’m not a fan of McGuires. I’ve tried eating steak there a few times and it was average at best. For me, it’s way too damn loud and dark in there and I’m not old enough to be saying that. Their Lamb chops are really good but tiny. Best steak I ever had here was at mesquite Charlie’sbyt they been gone a long time. I wish I could point you in a more promising direction. If money is t an issue, try Jackson’s.

McGuire's! A little bit of everything on the menu. You won't leave hungry.

Oh, and get the Boxties for an appetizer.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

If I was going to go out for a nice dinner, I would choose Grand Marlin just about every time. Great food, great views and great atmosphere.

As someone who grew in Pcola this is complete gospel - word for word. Mesquite Chariles was so better than Coach and Four too.

Iron
Georges
Union Public House
Fish House

McGuire's
Grand Marlin
Global Grill
Jacksons

Those are the first that come to mind, not in any particular order. I'm sure I left a few off, that should be enough to get the job done.

Go to the Cactus Flower. Good food, won't spend as much.

For steak though, as stated, Jackson's is your best choice.

I agree. Mesquite Charlies had awesome steaks but nobody else here ever has. I also am not a McGuires fan. The food isn't great. It's more about the environment.

Is Grand Marlin in the old Boy on a Dolphin (Fag on a fish) building?

I use to like McGuires and the fish house best - always heard good about jacksons
