Pulled this down off my grandfathers wall more than 20 years ago. Covered in saw dust and cobwebs. He had carved a stock until he couldn't any longer due to arthritis. I finished it up today. Gundoc cleaned up all the metals and made them perfect. This gun stock isn't perfect, but it's as perfect as I'm capable of. My first time with a project like this. Walnut stock. Wet sanded TruOil for the first two coats at 400 grit. Then put an additional 5 coats on using my finger. Each coat followed by a #000 then #0000 steel wool. 24 hours between each coat. My grandfather is now 90 and won't ever pull the trigger on it. But I hope to get a photo of it in his hands. Once again, I'm struggling posting photos. Gimme some grace to correct it.

He made my grandmother a grandfather clock. Or I should say he started making her one, then she passed. He never finished it. I recently finished it too, for my wife. I'm gonna drag him to my house and get him to let me get a photo of him holding the shotgun, next to the clock. He lost his leg long ago to a hunting accident, with a 16 gauge side by side shotgun. That's the one in the photo.

That's pretty. In my life I've been able to handle several bespoke guns from various makers but these priceless ones are the best.

Skinny is my EX.Alcohol was involved.

Yes, Gundoc Reblued it. Unknown age on the gun. Stevens 311C. No date stamp that I've been able to find. Not a lot of information on the C model. It's very old, I know that. I'm guessing mid 1940's. But I just don't know. I've searched and came across a few others who were also searching with no results. I'm 53. It hung in my grandfathers shop for as long as I can remember. Earliest memory was when I was 5, of this gun on that wall, in pieces. About 20 years ago I asked him for it. He traded me for a 20g Winchester pump. The 20g is now my sons. Papa can't lift it with his shoulder any longer. I've got a whole back log of projects I've never finished. This was #2 on the list. Staring to shop for wood for the next one.
