I’m about done with the finagled front load washer we have. I’ve fixed about the last leak on this thing that I’m gonna fix. It seems like something is always leaking on this POS.
When the conversation comes up on Aldeer, speed queen is always well represented.
Are the new speed queens of high quality and worth the money? Who has one and what do you think. I don’t know if id be able to find an old, well-refurbished one but I don’t mind spending the 1300 on a new one if they are actually good pieces of equipment.

I was told the Speed Queen is the only model washer that’s still made like our parents had back in the 70’s and 80’s. We bought a SQ 6-7 years ago, and it’s still running with no issues. 🤷♂️

We’ve had a Speed Queen washer and dryer for about three years. Previously had a front load Whirlpool washer and literally gave it away after replacing the rubber seal twice and could still not get rid of the mildew smell.
The Speed Queen was about double the cost but so far, they’ve been well worth it. We bought the basic models but the fit and finish is better and they came with a 10 year warranty. This. They have analogue dials instead of digital and you can open the lid to add to the wash (doesn't lock you out like new fangled ones do). They're fast, too!
experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

We have a set bought in 08 I believe , still going strong. They have bronze gears , not plastic . We have the mid range model , would buy again.
BTW, Gary's Warehouse in FT. Payne is the place to buy them in our area . 256-845-1505

We have had the TR5/DR5 for almost 3 years. My wife complains about the clothes going across the lint trap as you pull the clothes out. I don’t know if there is supposed to be a cover over it or something, but ours doesn’t. Other than that, everything is good. I like to know my clothes are actually under water when they are being washed. I don’t want to save water, I want my clothes clean. Don’t use the normal settings or autofill. Guy at appliance place told me that the normal settings meet the EPA regulations, but to just do large/heavy duty setting on every load and that gets your max water fill.

Our dryer has a plastic grid that drops on top of the recessed lint screen.
