Haven't been there in a while, but carolina rigging watermelon seed finese worms on points or underwater humps always worked well for me. Also, if you have a few warm days in a row fish around cover in the back of sloughs. Watermelon or cotton candy colors always worked best for me on that lake.

Can you fish around the Marina ,launch site ? If you can that area has fish hauled in there every weekend. One year Rick clunn fished in there every day of a FLW tournament. Throw a double fluke rig. A spinnerbait areound laydowns a rogue. And flip around floating docks(not the gas dock !)You can win it there !
Good luck. Why run when you could be fishing. If the water is low fish a shallow crank and the fluke rig around the shallow docks.

Life is too short to only hunt and fish on weekends!

I always preferred the north end of the lake because the water stays stained. The further south you go, it gets real clear and that was always tougher fishing for me. I would try Sturdivant Creek. It can be found on almost every map between Hwy 280 and the railroad bridge. There is a big hump right in the mouth of the creek. There is also a submerged road bed about halfway toward the back of the creek. It runs completely across the creek. The road bed rises about 10 feet higher than the rest of the bottom. Idle toward the back of the creek while watching the depth finder and you can't miss it.

Don't listen to anything they tell you!

Throw Beetle Spins over treetops submerged in 34-foot water on clay points! Carolina-rig some spinnerbaits on mussel bars! Crickets under bobbers around pine trees!

grin

My dad will be down there with his team for the tournament. Best of luck, safe runnin' and good fishing to all of y'all this weekend.

coming out of windcreek the first creek to your left (Elkahatchee) has always been good fishing. Water stays stained in there and there are always plenty of trees down to hit also. Many a tournament on Martin has been won in that creek.
Other advice on here is also very sound.

I haven't fished martin since 2003. I always caught tons of fish on finese worms rigged on a jighead. Fish the jighead around rocks, points or brush. I always liked a 3/16 ounce head. Best colors were anything watermelon or green pumpkin, also gourd green was a very effective color. Use 8 pound flurocarbon line with the jighead and finese worm. To catch larger fish I would throw crankbaits (bandit 200 and 300 series) or spinnerbaits (war eagle screaming eagle) in the same places mentioned earlier. Wind creek is excellent fishing if it is not off limits, but on weekends it is usually to crowded to fish. My favorite places were above 280 and blue creek.
