Around 1997 I was going to scout on Choccolocco. I was up around rattlesnake mountain and came around a curve in the road and there were clothes strewn all over the road and a female laying on the side of the road. I slowed down and was about to stop but my gut told me something was fishy. The whole thing just didn’t look right so I kept going. When I came back by she was gone and all the clothes were too. Looking back I think it was a setup and there was probably someone waiting in the woods to ambush whoever stopped. This was also during the time the rainbow people were hanging out there.
That would be a good one for the local deputy to deal with.

not public land, BUT I was turkey hunting one morning, setting back against a tree. I heard something LOUD RUNNING TOWARDS ME WHEN A 20ISH year old WOMAN came into view running wide open thru saplings, briars, all of it. No trail or anything, thru the woods. Went out of sight sill running FAST. I quietly got up and left. WTH????
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Was just getting into Mulberry when I saw a glowing orb descend out of the sky It landed somewhere In Mulberry This was maybe 0430 Cloudless morning and this was not a meteor it was a round glowing orb It descended too fast to be a helicopter I never saw it go back up
When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself The older I get the better I used to be

Seems I remember it was a certain dirt road and if you went at a certain time 2-3 glowing orbs could be seen hovering in the road. And when approached they would disappear.

Craziest thing I’ve ever seen on public land was the Rainbow people gathering on the national forest part of Chocolocco about 1994. We were camped for a weekend turkey hunt. After hearing a drum beating most of the evening, we decided to go check it out. Saw about 5,000 hippies, all smoked outta their minds. We saw a guy leading 5 or 6 girls in hooded robes along the trail in. I wonder if they were “sacrificed” in some sort of way. I had the same thing happen to me in the mid 90’s in the Talledega Nat’l Forest near Tuscaloosa. When I drove in to my spot no one was there. I came out of the woods to see hundreds of hippies mixed with skinheads everywhere. That was the only time I clicked my safety off all morning.

I seen a deer onetime on public Yeah you actually have to hunt and hunt hard to be productive on public land unless your a good hunter or have great luck.that expensive hunting club doesn't buy you a wall hanger out of a shooting house on public land. Most guys raised hunting public land will out do everyone on private land

3% - some of best turkey hunting i ever had was on hard hunted wma public turkey land - i would tag out there - i had only hunted private before and was instantly very successful when i got to wma (took few weeks to learn)
Maybe hunting w some of the best turkey hunters in the county helped me - i no it did
The private i got now is some of the toughest turkey huntin i ever had - mainly because they leave n spring
I wish i had the public land i use to hav - multiple birds to a tag out every year there and hunting public is not a prerequisite to being good hunter
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever

Weirdest thing I found was on Ivory Mountain in Cleburne County. A bunch of piled up rock cairns scattered through the woods. There was an old iron chisel on top of one of them. I'm assuming they were graves of some sort.

Saw an Ostrich in the woods in Blanch once. Middle of nowhere. Was it in season?
