Got lucky enough to catch this guy tailing a doe in Abbeville tonight. Did I get him to high up for a shoulder mount? Thanks

No any half way decent taxidermist can fix that and you will never see it. If your worried about the taxidermist can order a replacement cape or kill you another one and use that cape.
That's a good deer congrats btw

Good buck and yes it can 100% absolutely still be shoulder mounted. Good taxidermist and you’ll never even notice where it was. Congrats on a nice buck.

Should not be a problem. I have one mounted that I shot at 10 yards with buckshot in center of shoulder. You can see it if you know what your looking for. But it’s not obvious. Personally I think it adds a bit of character.

I kind of like a bullet hole being visible on mounts.

It’s more about caping it out far enough back to get a good shoulder mount . The bullet hole won’t be noticeable.
