This goes back to a previous thread where someone asked if TV hunters did so well because of where they hunted, or their skill. Well it appears as though it's more when and how you hunt!!!

Glad they got busted , but federal court and all over transporting dead critters. And there are many, many much more serious crimes and not even an arrest . BLM and ANTIFA comes to mind. Sounds like they made someone with power or connections mad.

I'd like to know what Bowmar did to get all his money? If he is a self made kinda fella kudos to him because the farms he owns in Missouri and Iowa are incredible. They shoot some absolute slammers each year.

What did they do wrong besides use cameras and bait to locate deer and transport dead animals across state lines?

Not sure if he (they) had family money. But he played college football, got into weightlifting and the "bodybuilding" show stuff with success, and has businesses in nutrition, online media, beef jerky (which is pretty good), hunting and other things that have been successful.

Showman? Huckster? Hustler in the sense of trying things to make money? Probably all of those. He (they) aren't different than the Kardashians in the sense of investing in or creating companies they think will work, and then promoting the hell out of them.

Douchebag? Looks that way, but I don't know him personally so I can't say. Ignernt idot? Probably. We all are, to some degree.

His attorney in the Nebraska case is in Nashville and was one of Trump's attorneys, or big supporters (or both). They vowed to fight the Nebraska charges and not plea to anything until they went to trial or whatever. And then they reached an agreement, so something imp significant hThiappened between the "we're going to fight!" and "OK, we'll do this."

Was trying to figure out the same thing. That article doesn't make it very clear.

Probably a fair assessment.

I will say this for the guy. Tool/d-bag, whatever he is (and yes he does come across that way), he can flat out shoot a bow.

Sounds like baiting is the core offense. Taking any game that was killed using an illegal method across state lines is a felony. Stems from the days of market hunting that nearly wiped out all game in the early 1900s. Was a good idea and necessary back then but is a bit extreme now. Now, don't get me wrong. I am not defending them at all. They knew they were breaking Nebraska law and they got caught.

Interesting tid bit at the end of the article. How many cell camera accounts do y’all think DNR’s across the country have peered into without proper permission

I think 39 people total were indicted and charged, including the outfitter who is in prison but detailed everything to prosecutors. Hundreds of charges among the 39 ranging from illegal baiting, hunting at night with lights, illegal hunting from the road, use of suppressors, failing to tag animals, using other hunters' tags -- just a wide range of stuff. The Bowmars had, I think, most of their charges related to poaching and baiting.

They claimed they did not "knowingly" poach or bait anything and thus were fighting those charges. Said they were unwitting and didn't know.
