Had a gobbler come swimming by my boat today at lay. He swam well and did not panick when we got close for pics. He hauled but once he flopped up on land. I have never see it before. [Linked Image]

I saw a hen swim across a pond once, but that is awesome to catch one going across a lake.

I saw a video of some swimming a while back. Birds were roosted by a lake and tried to pitch across but ran out of gas before they hit the other bank. A fisherman saw it all go down and videoed them swimming to the bank.

I wounded one about 10 years ago an by the time i found him he was swimmin up a creek just like a duck..i five star frog splashed him then water swatted him with a hunk of drift wood🤠…thats the only one ive ever seen do that…what you witnessed is pretty rare id say..especially an open body of water like that..ive seenem wade swamps an sloughs..maybe they swam some..but usually they flitter over water like a chicken..or tap from treetop to treetop..tjat ther almost makes me think he had a little somethin goin on..he dont seem quite right
