McCarthy has sold his soul to try to get this job.

Are you for real? You actually think someone else up there is any better? They all sold their soul, let's just get on with dragging Fauci, Hunter's buddies, Wray, etc up in front of them and make them squirm, about all they are worth at this point.

Is Mccarthy gaining or losing votes each time? If he starts losing votes before he gets to 218, which will happen at some point as this progresses, he's done and any chance he had is gone. If he doesnt get to 218 before he starts losing votes, as soon as he loses votes, on two subsequent house votes, a new candidate will rise from the ashes and probably get the 218 pretty quick. 7 votes in? I think that McCarthy is already done and it's all over but the crying. Fat lady is in the wings warming up her voice.

If we keep doing what we've been doing, we will keep getting what we've been getting.
What about the concept of McCarthy pulling his name, and moving his crap out of the speaker's office.
Fox News is outraged, which should tell you all you need to know.

Really what should be done at this point, but McCarthy ain't doing it doesn't look like. It would be the 2nd time he's had to do it and the 1st time got us Paul Ryan....so

It's just petty, and an "I'll show you" at this point. They already have the commitment to allow for the reinstatement of the rule allowing for a removal vote with only 5 members. Let McCarthy be speaker and then if he sides with the Dems or doesnt address promised issues, simply get 5 guys and call for a vote to remove him. McCarthy stomped on the head of his own ---- when he called for a vote, knowing that he did not have the 218 votes. What the freedom caucus is now doing is purely punitive and just wasting time. Elect him then run him out on a rail if he doesnt honor his conservative promises. Prime example of why Republicans cannot win elections. Every single democrat votes in lockstep on every party issue. Republicans would rather argue about who is the biggest conservative, when there are probably less than 5, in total, in congress that are truly conservative in their principles and actions.

Bingo!! It’s not unique to Congress either, we’ll have Aldeer members coming along shortly calling us democrats because we want Congress to go to work instead of argue

He’s lost 2 votes since the first round. Initially there were 19 voting against him. In the third round one member pulled his support and joined the 20 and another voted present.

If the majority want mcarthy they should put him in. I hear too much bs about "conservative" enough. Everyone likes to say how conservative they are. In reality tho they are pretty progressive in their personal lives. If it benefits them. Democrats are winning because they never speak out against their own, hell or high water. Republicans should take note.

I don't know enough about mcarthy personally to say whether or not I want him in the speaker spot. but most people do.

I do know paul ryan. Spent a great bit of time with him during the 2012 election. He is a good man. And that's enough for me

If trump ran the country like a business it was an unsustainable business. Don't lament the senate for deficit spending while praising trump. Trump spend more than any other potus

Ryan is a piece of sh-it Rino that was bought and paid for. McCarthy is cut from the same cloth.

Ya know what. If we only had c-span for this type of televised news, he would have won the first go round. This is all political theater and attention whoring.

It be's that way sometimes.

This is a swamp move to prevent any R president from doing whats right for the country just like Ryan did when Trump took office
Whether the R candidate is Trump or DeSantis the swamp will reject anything they want to do that is good for the country
