Anyone got a place they know to service a track loader? I have a leaking hydro connection that needs fixing and I figured I’d get a full service while I’m at it. Dealer wants $1200 in labor just for servicing. That ain’t happening here!

Depends on what service it is really. A 500 hour or the 1000 hour. Some machines the 2000 hour one is the big one. Looks like on an ASV skid steer engine is every 250 and hydraulic is every 500. Coolant at 1000. I guess their final drives don’t have oil in them I don’t know.

Same here. He called it a the 2000 hr service. I guess the more hours the more stuff but I justnwanted fluids filters and lube.

For the big un. Hr meter shows 98 so maybe I can get that price down

I called a buddy that owns many machines and has a personal mechanic that does his MX. Buddy said he can service 2-3 machines in a day if it’s just normal MX. I find it hard to believe it takes 8-10 hours for filters and fluids

It’s not due for a service at 98 hours. Buy a grease gun and hit all the fittings daily. Maybe knock the dust out of the air filters and save your money. You can probably take the leaky hose off and get it repaired at a NAPA. It might just be an o ring. Get it serviced at 250 at the earliest.

Someone pulling ur leg. We have in house service guy that change all filters .engine, transmission hydraulic an engine oil for two skidders, loader an dozer in 8 hrs time. If took all day to service just 1 piece equipment he wouldn t have a job. Like someone said do it yourself . Not too complicated .

By the time you run all over creation to round up filters & fluids & get your hose off (and to a guy who can repair or replace it tomorrow, maybe), then you get to start replacing all the new stuff.
That all sounds like a day in my world. When I’ve got a full day of service work, I try to allow a day and a half. With loaders or mini excavators, you sometimes need a few hours to wash/ steam enough dirt, mud, and clay off of them so you can get to everything.

What does a machine like your servicing hire for per hour? . I know some that charge a minimum no matter what your doing
