The past couple weeks I’ve had a flock on camera that looks to consist of hens, jakes, and long beards. Maybe it’s all jakes but there looks to be some beards that are 7-8” long. That’s not normal this time of year is it?

I had one strutting w hens last November - I didn’t think that was normal - this one bird hung w those hens lot last winter which I thought was odd

It's normal for turkeys to do whatever they wanna do. My guess is that you had a food source that they liked and all the turkeys were on it together. A couple of weeks from now they might bust up, or they might not.

A couple of years ago we had a big flock with every size and sex of turkey hanging around a chufa patch. They stayed together until January and then divided into 3 flocks - hens in one, and there were 34 of them. Never got a good enough look at the flocks of longbeards and jakes to count them.

It’s never been uncommon for flocks of different sexes/ages to mingle.

They are about to piss me off. Come eat my deer corn strut and leave before turkey season.

Mine were mingling for a while but seem to be split back up now
