Boat is in Oxford. May just try it myself. Thanks guys It's not hard. Be sure to install a toggle switch so you can turn off the power supply when not in use. The "Black Box" draws power, regardless of whether the unit is on or not. I used a set of jumper cables as the wire for mine. I didn't want any voltage drop, my boat is 20' long, and jumper cables were cheaper than any 6-8 gauge wire I could buy. Also, pull an extra, smaller, ground wire while you're pulling wire. You have to ground the case of the black box to the battery.

Paul Davis. He has a mobile business but I don’t know his range. Are you really in South Georgia? You may be able to get him to go an hour radius from Pell City. you can find him on Facebook paul’s Mobile marine repair. Paul is who I would recommend

You have to ground the case of the black box to the battery. Fur, I think the directions say that 10 gauge wire is sufficient. It's what I used and meter read the same at the black box as it did at the battery. Also, don't forget to put a fuse on the wiring to protect against a short in the wire. The unit has a fuse, but you still need one on the wire to guard against causing a fire. As I remember, the things I had to buy that were extra was some 10 gauge stranded wire, a 12 volt switch large enough for the current, and a 30 amp fuse. I think they even provided the screws needed. It isn't hard to install. Good luck!

I just rewired one for a friend that put his in and he replaced three switches he had burned up. Relay is cheaper than a high current switch.

I used a switch similar to this one that is $8: https://www.autozone.com/ignition/s...e-toggle-switch/654848_0_0#bv_PDPReviewsThey rate this one at 35 amps. The one I found was listed as 450 watts, which would be 37.5 amps, but there is likely little difference in them. I like the convenience of having the switch right beside me so that I can easily kill the power to it if I am making a long run, or when I finish fishing. But every setup is different and it might not matter to most. For sure, don't buy a regular 15 or 20 amp toggle switch. It wouldn't carry the power, and the terminal screws are not big enough for 10 gauge wire.

I think my toggle switch is rated for 30A. It' been in the boat for nearly 2 years and hasn't burned up yet, so I guess all is good.
