I'm about to finally put a waterline on my land. I had it measured and I'm going to need 1150 ft of pipe and it will also be going up an incline. My question has anybody had this situation and what size pvc pipe did you use? The water company guy said 2 in pvc because of the long drop and the incline. Has anybody gotten the pex in 1in to work with a similar situation?

That many PVC joints sounds like a leak waiting to happen

Go with a 250 or 500 or ? foot roll limit your connection. The utilities will know best.

500 ft rolls of 1.5" pex ... less joints to worry about. I put a access box at each joint and a shut off valve if ever needed to find a leak. Wasnt cheap but less joints to possibly leak.

Just did a run longer than that little bit of incline and decline. Used 1” PVC the kind that already has the flare in it so no fittings needed. Water pressure is in the 80-ish range. Cheapest I ended up finding the PVC was at Lowe’s. Think I bought 90 sticks of 20’.

I just put in 800ft of 1in pex. It was a whole lot easier than pvc only had 2 connectors I got the 300ft rolls but think you can get them in 500ft if they have them. It’s not real cheap but nothing is now.

Built a house in 2020 and ran 700+ foot just like this.

I understand yall put all these feet of line in ,but like I said did you have a steady pretty steep incline when you did. That's the reason the water company guy told me to do the 2 in pvc because of the hill

Ran 3000 ft of 1in. PVC off a water meter. Plenty of water volume but pressure could be better. I was told pressure would be better if I had used 3/4 in. line

Can see it’s up hill most of the way but not real steep.

I ran mine uphill and no problems with volume or pressure.
I was going to do 2" but as square stated above, water guy told me to use smaller for better pressure.

So what size did you do Dustin? I wasn't going to do 2 in the whole way I was going to neck it down to 3/4 right before my pad. Can you get 1.6 in pex, I thought it only came in 1 in

You won’t regret using 2”. I would get them to do a 2” tap on the main too. It will cost more up front but you won’t have a volume issue. Is this for your house?

Mine was that long we had a pressure tank inside before it ran to a faucet. I believe it was set at 45 psi. It was plenty stout always. We ran it another 300’ to the bathhouse with a tankless hot water heater and it was sho nuff nice.

I also had a drain valve on everything for when we left and it was winter.

Mine is 1100 feet all be it pretty flat but I went 1 1/2” except the last 150’ and reduced down to 1”. I have 150 psi at my outside hose bib. 1 1/2 is plenty big for what you would need I believe.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Could you go small uphill and large downhill to get the best pressure
