Nice. My buddy lost 3 well hit deer in a row with no exit holes with those so I won’t shoot ‘em.

Well crap. I thought the interlock bullets were supposed to keep their mass.

I've always had exit holes with .308 165 gr btsp Hornady interlock.been a good balance of pass through and expansion killed probably 10 or more deer with that bullet .I have had the sst bullet blow up but it didn't matter cause it couldn't drag it's leg to far before it laid down.
But we are talking different cartridge so bullet jacket thickness could be thinner?idk no 270 experience here

I’ve got another buddy that swears by em, so I don’t know. But I have personally witnessed one friend lose a bunch with em.

All I shoot out of all my rifles. No complaints.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

When I worked for the state we got them distributed to all of the fetal study shooters and they were garbage in 150 grain .308. Worst terminal performance I’ve ever seen. Within one night of shooting and losing so many deer most of us used them for euthanizing varmints and got something else for collections. I’ll never own another box of them. Personally witnessed several lung shot deer that were alive 15-20 minutes later, some crawled off never to be found, poor blood trails, expansion etc.

I truly do hope they perform better for you. We came to our consensus based off dozens of deer shot. The track record was not good.

I rarely talk negative about products of any kind but I just want you to be aware.

I had a guy in hunting club that wrote off 150 gr interlock bullets also but you have to realize every bullet in a different diameter and weight is a different bullet, just watch ballistic gelatin test for pistol cartridges on lucky gunner.only a few are consistent throughout caliber and weight
I understand what your saying but also have to know they are not all built the same.

Considering they are listed for $53 a box on midway usa maybe I can find a unsuspecting shooter to unload them on without taking a big loss.

Wow. I am surprised to hear this. I don’t use the hornady American whitetail load but I am a Huge fan of hornady. Been using SST’s exclusively for Alabama whitetails in several calibers for probably 20+ years. With absolutely perfect results. I personally consider it the finest whitetail bullet made. However back to the American whitetail load, I am surprised they would put it out on the market it it were crap. Are you sure the bullet is an interbond? Interbonds have been around forever! There performance is legendary. Can’t imagine it being the same bullet. IB’s are right up there with Nosler Partition.

Sold the 270 boxes to someone who likes them. I think we both were happy at $25 a box.

They very well may be great in a .270. I’m just reporting what we saw in .308 150 grain.

I killed several several with a .270 and had some very bad results also. Lack of blood was one issue. I stopped shooting them and switched to Barnes. My cousin lost a nice buck with a 7mm-08 and he won’t shoot them anymore. My Buddy loves them in his 7mm-08. My experience is they were very accurate but the terminal performance was lacking. Just my opinion.
