I was just about to start this thread. Thanks for kicking it off. Gotta work today, but hoping to make it to the lease for a quick sit this evening. Then heading down to Cedar Creek for an antlerless hunt.

My son and I are hunting this morning. This is his first hunt where he will get to shoot. We saw a 3 point about 30 minutes ago but he never gave us a shot. Good luck to everyone!

My oldest daughter and I are having a ball this morning. Huffed and puffed and slipped and slid climbing up here on a high bench but it’s been worth it. Had a lone doe ease up the hill and feed all around us. She was <10 yards from our tree. Faith could’ve popped her but she’s holding out for a buck. Still neat to watch a deer that close for several minutes. She finally eased off and just a few minutes ago a big coyote trotted through. He wasn’t getting a pass but she couldn’t get in him quick enough for a shot. We’re gonna sit tight for a bit. Critters are moving in Jackson Co.

I'm a bit surprised that when I opened this thread a moment ago there wasn't several pictures of proud young men and women posing with their first deer, or at least their first of the year. I know it's been somewhat rainy but the state is covered with shooting houses and green fields. Good luck this afternoon and the rest of the weekend.
RST87 that young fellow looks like he's ready to squeeze the trigger on the boss of the woods. 👍🏻

Swing and a miss for my youngest one this afternoon. He was heartbroken. We watched a nice six for a good while until he got close enough to shoot. I got him pumped back up and me him and his older brother are gonna try again tomorrow

Guys I can’t wait. I’m taking my 7yr old tomorrow. Hopefully the practice pays off. I’ve invited several friends with kids this weekend to do doe patrol so it should be a fun weekend.

We got it done this evening. Or my 12 year old did. My wife and both kids were in the stand so it was pretty special.

[Linked Image]

We dropped it off at processor and someone asked my son if that was his first. He said first this year 🤣🤣🤣.
