I bought a 10 pt wicked ridge and I like it. Easy to shoot, good price, etc. I'm good to 50 or so. Could go further if I practiced more. That being said, one of my buddies has a ravin, and he killed one (out of State) at 82 yards last week. He is dialed into 120, he said. He spent $1,400 on his scope. I'm not that mad at them.....

I have a center point sniper 370. Put a truglo opti-speed scope on it. Get it set to 20 yards and adjust the speed dial until you are on target at other ranges. Mines sitting at 330 fps right now, which is the sweet spot.

I shoot Full metal jacket 20 in bolts and Muzzy trocar fixed with expanding blades broad heads, 125 grain. Shot a deer a couple weeks ago with it. Zipped right thru and deer went maybe 20 yards. It was a higher double lung shot.

I went to FMJ bolts after shooting a deer and breaking the bolt off, and never finding it. So I may be a tad slower than what the bow is capable of, but I'm good out past 50 yards with it.

Have a couple swacker heads since I couldn't find any 125 grain muzzys. The muzzys shot same as field points.

I got a wicked ridge and like it so far. I do not like the scope that it came with though.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Fur, I still have the crossbow I bought from you years ago. You need it for this hunt let me know. Killed several with it.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

Cool, I wondered if you did. And thanks!

That bow seems to be out of production. I haven't found it online, anywhere other than ebay. I hate buying new stuff on ebay because you never know if the warranty will be honored.

They have them on Amazon which is where I bought mine. I just looked. Just put CP 400 in the search bar. If your ever in the Bham area pm me and you can come shoot mine and see if you like it.

I have a Ravin R10. I bought crossbow after shoulder surgery couldn't hold bow back as long anymore. I have targeted practice at 100 yards and it hit almost build eye. I love shooting it. Ready to clock and fun to shoot.

How any of you ever made up your mind on which crossbow to get us beyond my comprehension. I had no idea there were so many different makes and models of crossbows on the market. Mind boggling

For those who have a Ravin, I’ve read that the strings and Cables need to be replaced every 200 shots. Have you had that done? If so, where and how much did it cost?

Also with the Killer Instinct crossbows, they have a limited lifetime warranty but to comply with their warranty you have to have the bow inspected by a dealer every 3 years. Anyone done that?

I've only had my Killer Instinct for a couple of years, but probably won't bother getting it inspected every three years. Is a budget brand really going to replace anything after years of use? I could be wrong, but I bet they find a way around honoring warranties on ones more than a few years old. How much do the inspections cost? Probably not much less than a new budget x-bow. My string is still looking good after a few hundred shots, so it sounds like they hold up better than Ravin lol.

I was overwhelmed with all the x-bows when I first looked too. I ended up getting the cheapest one I could that was over 400fps. Gave me a chance to learn more about them without spending too much.

I'll probably be selling it at the end of the season, primarily because I don't like compound bows. I'm used to doing all the work on my guns, and I don't like that I have to take them to a shop to do basic maintenance. That's the main reason I've been learning to shoot a recurve.

Red what model is your Killer Instinct?

I have the Lethal 405 and cannot keep it zeroed with the upgraded Vortex Scope I put on it. It will zero and within half dozen shots it's off again. Something is loose somewhere but haven't taken the time to find what is. I just put it up and broke out my compound.

I have the Boss 405. I never had an issue with accuracy or maintaining zero. I swapped out the factory scope for better low light performance, but it was accurate when I used it.

My guess is there's something loose, but it could be the luck of the draw when buying budget. I always check all the screws for the limb mount before shooting, and sometimes they need to be tightened. I'm not sure if it's necessary, but I did loctite the scope ring screws. Doesn't kick like a rifle does, but there are a lot of vibrations when shooting.
