Oh, definitely the first call would be to my attorney and second to my financial guy. We'd probably have a meeting.
I think some states require the winner to be public, which IMO would suck, and a few allow the winner to claim the prize anonymously.
There's a way to circumvent this. Don't sign your name on the ticket. Form a trust, sign the trust's name on the ticket, and make your lawyer accept the winnings on behalf of the trust.

[quote=Strictlybow]Pretty sure you can buy tickets online using the app. No travel needed Not if you are in Alabama.......not legally anyways. If I win, I'd share with friends and family, but whatever amount I choose to give them, I will make them sign a pledge that they would never ask me Ga asks for a valid zip code. I tried several times

How would you know what lawyers and accountants to trust? It would be overwhelming. I’d have a nice place down south and nice place up north, and I guess a place out west. Spend time in all 3, then swing back by home for a couple of weeks. That’s unfathomable money to me.

With 800 million unfortunately you probably can't trust anybody, that is the sad part of becoming super rich.

He would be my first call and let him figure out the hard parts.

A guy I used to work with is mine and I trust him, but I may have to update my lisensure with the fees that would be generated off that account. I may have to start an investment group.

No ranches in Texas and Montana for me. Guess I’ll go to work Monday.

Everyone goes crazy buying when it gets to a big pot. Could this be another scheme/scam where they know the winning ticket won't be sold so they can keep the binge buys going? More money for the winner but also more for the government from the binge buys. Most of the folks I know ow that buy tickets for a big pot don't buy for the normal drawings. My thoughts are that 3 million would be plenty but I'd be happy with 1. I didnt buy one at 1.6 billion but I think 1.9 may be worth a drive to the store. Risk/reward calculations have been made. I do think Ill get one just to say I participated in the great wealth distribution gambit of 2022!
