Well boys the little model 7 .308 set up appears to be a perfect setup for a young feller. My youth hunter shot it this morning for the second time and so far it is 100% on kills. Both deer went Less than 20 yards combined after the shot. It must be a unicorn cause I read here killing deer with 150 gr .308 was not possible. Here is my son with his first deer. Here is my buddies son from this morning with his first buck.

At what range do you zero in the scope for the custom cds to work properly. I’m thinking of getting this scope

At what range do you zero in the scope for the custom cds to work properly. I’m thinking of getting this scope You can do any range but I do 100 for the guns I’m going to get the CDS dial that way you pretty much have all distances covered.

50mm on a 7 just doesn't look right, IMO. I've got a 3.5-10x40 VX3i in talley lightweights on my M7 SS 6mm and it's about perfect. Nice deer too !

These are great scopes but don’t put too much much confidence into the CDS.
Tracking is the weak link in an otherwise great “set it and forget it” scope.
You're only as good as your worst shot-
