Ole Man climbers are absolute death traps. Probably the most dangerous stand I’ve ever used. Never again.

And the bottom section sure will shimmy down a tree if it ain't tied to the top section. Had to get down by hugging a pine several years ago.

I always used my Summit Goliath facing the tree during rifle season. I just folded the chair back underneath the seat.

Buckshot does still make stands. I’ve got an equalizer a couple of years ago and love it.

I use the Summit 180 Max set up to face the tree. It works really well for rifle hunting. The only thing I’ll mention is that if you like sitting on the rail to raise the lower section when climbing and you shorter than average, 180 Max may be a challenge. The rounded top rail puts you farther away from the tree and the stirrups on the lower section than other Summit stands. Just an fyi. Very comfortable stand and safe for big boys. I’m 6’5” and 325 lbs. It fits me well.

I made my own it was heavy. It climbed great, stable and I could use the tree for cover. I just didn’t make it wide enough. It was like crawling through a small crawl space on a house. I gave it to a terminally skinny fellow.
