Cock of the Walk restaurant is close to Opryland. I always try to eat there when in Nashville.

Downtown, Demo's Steak and Spaghetti house is one of our favorites. Very good food and service without breaking the bank. Get a steak of your choosing with a side of spaghetti that has one of Nine sauces (ask to sample them) of your choosing at a modest price. Service is Black tie quality. The rolls are great too.

Somewhere there is a Stockyard, or old stockyard, that has a steak house with a bar downstairs that a lot of the Nashville big shots hang out at. I had fun there years ago partying with Eddie Rabbit and old pool sharp Willie Mosconi. Mosconi was old but he could knock back the scotch.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

My wife and I stayed at the Moxy downtown when we were there for the Motley Crew/Def Lepard concert back in July. The hotel was nice (small rooms, but nice) and was located downtown a stones throw from all the bars. I was able to stumble back to the hotel easily after bar hopping all night with the wife!

I think the Stockyards is no more. It was great but a little expensive.

We really enjoyed Jim Kellys steakhouse. It's pretty pricey but we'll worth it I thought. It's up there with Ruth Chris

Go to Monell's at the Manor for Breakfast. And go really hungry.

You sit down family style with a bunch of people you don't know and pass around big bowls and plates of food until you can't eat anymore and it is magnificent.

Me and my Wife stayed at the Moxy Downtown Nashville a few months ago. It is right across the street from The Johnny Cash Museum. Kid Rocks place is right next to the Moxy. It is loud location in that area. Me and my Wife found the Moxy to be the best place to stay for short walk to everything on Broadway. If You didn’t already know, it has gotten even crazier down on Broadway lately. The Renaissance is a good place to stay near Broadway and is a closer walk to the Ryman from there.

Broadway is like Gatlinburg Parkway with music and drunk people.

Jeff Ruby's is a notch above Jim Kellys. Both good.

For real country music, check out Tootsies, Roberts, and Layla's.

If Kelly's Heroes are at Roberts (usually are on Friday nights) you wil be in for a treat.

Be sure to put a little cabbage in the band tip jar. That's how they make a living.

You can save money by eating at Monell’s. You won’t need but one meal the entire day!! Great breakfast!

well, we got a downtown room booked-damnit those N'ville rooms are crazy $$$$$. got to try that breakfast @ Monell's, thats the kind of different things we like to do on trips, Johnny Cash is on the plan as is a trip to the Ryman and Sat night at the Opry. Going to try for a reservation @ J. Rubys or J Kellys Sat before Opry. hope we can get back downtown in time to go to some of the clubs and listen to some up-and-comers. Need to make a plan for Sunday after breakfast @ Monell's. Thanks for all the replies.
